Hamilton County

Northbound I-71 between SR 562 and Red Bank Expressway interchanges

PID 94741

July 12

5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Madisonville Rec. Center,

5320 Stewart Ave., Cincinnati

A proposed project to improve northbound Interstate 71 between the Norwood Lateral (SR 562) and Red Bank Expressway interchanges in Hamilton County, is the subject of a public information meeting scheduled for later this month. This meeting is being held jointly with the public meeting for a noise barrier that is recommended as part of this project.
The Ohio Department of Transportation will host this meeting which is scheduled for Tuesday, July 12 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Madisonville Recreation Center, 5320 Stewart Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio.
The purpose of this meeting is to provide an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the planned project, including the recommended noise barrier. The meeting will be held in an “open house” format which permits attendees to visit at their convenience during the designated time to review the display boards illustrating the project, as well as to discuss the project individually with project team representatives.
This project involves widening northbound I-71 to provide three continuous through lanes between the Norwood Lateral (SR 562) and Red Bank Expressway interchanges and the modification of the Ridge Avenue exit ramp and Kennedy Avenue entrance ramp. Based on noise studies completed for this project, a noise barrier is recommended which would provide noise abatement for residences on Charloe Street, Anioton Court, and Sonoma Court, as well as apartments at the Lindsay Lane Apartments.
Much of the work involved for this project will occur within the existing right of way limits of I-71. The project is expected to require minor right of way strip takes and easements from several parcels, as well as one residential relocation and the displacement of two commercial outbuildings.
ODOT is currently working on the design plans for this project. The start of construction is scheduled for Spring 2018. This project is scheduled to be constructed concurrently with a rehabilitation project for I-71 between the Norwood Lateral (SR 562) and Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway (SR 126).
Individuals who require interpretation services or special assistance to participate in this meeting should contact the District 8 Planning Department at (513) 932-3030, seven days before the meeting for arrangements to be made.

Butler County, SR 73 and Jacksonburg Road

PID 102059

Wednesday July 20, 2016 Edgewood High School, 3045 Busenbark Rd., Trenton 45067

The Ohio Department of Transportation has recently received safety funding from the Highway Safety Improvement Program for the intersection of State Route 73 (Trenton Oxford Road) and Jacksonburg Road. The funding became available following an ODOT-sponsored safety study as well as in response to safety inquiries from the Wayne Township Board of Trustees. A feasibility study completed by the consultant, Burgess & Niple, has recommended a roundabout alternative for this intersection.

The existing skewed intersection of SR 73 and Jacksonburg Road has received several safety upgrades in the past. Following a 2015 Safety Study and the comparison of possible alternatives, it has been determined that the construction of a roundabout at this intersection will best increase the safety of the intersection and the Wayne Township community. The proposed project is scheduled to begin construction in 2019. This project will fulfill the needs of the community by improving the safety of the intersection and surrounding area.

You are invited to a public input meeting where you can review and provide feedback on the preliminary project plans. This will be an informal, open house style meeting.

During this meeting, it will be possible to review and comment on the proposed plans. Public officials and project representatives will also be available to address any questions.

This direct notification letter is being sent to property owners and residents in the immediate project area. Notices for this public meeting are also published in local newspapers and the ODOT district 8 webpage ( Public input is an important part of the development process. If any individual requires special assistance or interpretation, contact the Project Manager, Brianne Hetzel, at 513-933-6624 five to seven days prior to the event.

More information about the meeting, project or directions to the meeting location can be found on the ODOT District 8 webpage or by contacting Brianne Hetzel at the number above.

ODOT is hosting three Oasis Rail Transit open houses to share the results of studies that evaluate feasible alternatives for the rail project and potential options for implementation.
During previous community meetings held by ODOT, the public was able to review preliminary information related to proposed technology (trains), operation schedules, station locations, ridership and costs. That information has been updated based on current information and public input. ODOT is inviting public review and feedback on the results which will be documented as part of this phase of study. The Oasis project and the related plans have been developed through close coordination with local community, business and school representatives and other area stakeholders.

The open houses will be held at three different locations along the rail corridor, and content for each will be the same. Community members are invited to visit the location most convenient for them at any point during the scheduled timeframe to review project information and talk one-to-one with project team representatives.
Written comments may be submitted at the open houses or during the following 14-day public comment period. Comment forms will be provided at the open houses and posted online.
Those who cannot attend one of the open houses can review the meeting materials and comment online beginning Feb. 24. All meeting materials will be posted on the Oasis Rail Transit public involvement page of the Eastern Corridor website at www.Eastern
The proposed Oasis Rail Transit corridor extends roughly 17 miles between downtown Cincinnati's Riverfront Transit Center (under Second Street) and I-275 in Milford.

Widen Cincinnati Dayton Road from two to four lanes from West Chester Road north to the I-75 northbound on-ramp. The resulting roadway will be two northbound lanes, a center turn lane for safety and one southbound lane for the majority of the project. Station Road will be realigned slightly to the south of the existing alignment to improve geometrics at the Cincinnati Dayton Road intersection. In addition, the project includes a new bridge over the East Fork Mill Creek, as well as the addition of curbs, sidewalks, and a shared use path. The proposed project includes two project phases, each programmed for construction in 2018. There is a need to widen Cincinnati Dayton Road in the project area to accommodate existing and projected traffic, reduce roadway congestion, and improve motorist safety. The proposed project supports West Chester Township's community and economic development goals by improving traffic mobility and safety to areas of ongoing development.
