2. Sampling and/or Inspection Requirements:

Aggregate shall be handled as per 703.02. (Field)

Asphalt Material shall be handled as per 703.01. (Field)

Asphalt Concrete Monitoring:

Daily sample for asphalt concrete gradation shall be obtained from a truck at the plant or in accordance with Supplement 1035 and conforming to Items 446 and 448 C&MS. (Field)

1 in 10 sets of Marshall Pills produced by the contractor shall be tested by the district. (District)

Obtain a sample of mix which the contractor has used to determine the MTD and test. (District)

In the event of conflicting results, the District sample should be sent to OMM as a referee.

Asphalt Concrete Acceptance:

Obtain 10 cores from each lot for test. Cores shall be taken within 48 hours of pavement placement. Core location and lot size are determined by project personnel. A lot consists of an area of pavement, minimum 400 tons, placed during a production day. Cores shall be placed in an appropriate box, but not stacked, and stored at room temperature only. They are to be sent to the District directly after being taken accompanied by a TE-217.

Any items for other tests shall be accompanied by a TE-31.
