2. Sampling and/or Inspection Requirements:

Complying with Supplement 1069 Gradation testing is a responsibility of the certified supplier with Quality Assurance sampling and testing a responsibility of the Department. The sampling requirements below apply when sources are under old contracts and not certified.

Samples shall be taken at the source in accordance with procedures described in Appendix "A". Samples may be taken from an opening in the bottom of the screw conveyor enclosure, or at the point of discharge from the conveyor. (Field)

703.08 samples shall consist of 60-70 pounds of material for each 2600 tons, or fraction thereof.

Samples shall be tested in the District in accordance with applicable specifications. (District Engineer of Tests) Test data shall be submitted to the OMM Aggregate Section by updating the date test completed in the actual completion date and change the Responsible Location to "TL" and Lab to "AG" in the CMS Material Sample screen. Granulated Slag, 703.08 - a notation by the District Engineer of Tests that the material is free of foreign matter shall be entered in the "Remarks" section of the test data in CMS. (District Engineer of Tests)
