2. Sampling and/or Inspection Requirements:
Material delivered to the site shall be inspected for uniformity, appearance and dimensions. Material found to be defective shall be rejected. (Field)
Concrete brick shall be sound and free of cracks or other defects that would interfere with the proper placing of the unit or impair the strength or permanence of the construction. Minor cracks incidental to the usual method of manufacture, or minor chipping resulting from customary methods of handling in shipment and delivery, shall not be deemed grounds for rejection.
The exposed face(s) of concrete brick that are to be used in wall construction shall be free of chips, cracks or other imperfections except that, if 5% or less of a shipment contain slight cracks or small chips not larger than ½" (13 mm), this shall not be deemed grounds for rejection.
Approved material may be used upon completion of satisfactory inspection as indicated above.
Qualified Product List (QPL)
Only material that is approved as a Qualified Product may be used. To verify, refer to Qualified Product List (QPL) on the OMM website http://www.dot.state.oh.us/Divisions/ConstructionMgt/Materials/Pages/QPL.aspx
No sample is required.
