707.33 Corrugated Polyethylene Lined Pipe

2. Sampling and/or Inspection Requirements:

Inspect material delivered to the site for dimensions and condition. The nominal inside diameter of this smooth lined pipe shall be 4 to 60 inches. The pipe shall be free from visible defects. It shall not exhibit cracking or splitting. (Field)

Pipe damaged by crushing or stretching shall not be used.

The pipe shall be marked at least every 10-12 feet. Markings shall include manufacturer's name, nominal size, AASHTO M 294, plant designation, and date of manufacturer. Fittings shall be marked AASHTO M 294 and manufacturer.

707.33 covers three types of pipes. AASHTO M294:

Type S Pipe with dual walls: an outer corrugated wall and inner smooth wall

Type SP Type S with perforations

Type D Pipe with an inner smooth wall and outer ribs or projects spirally molded to support the inner smooth wall.

Certification

Supplement 1066 defines certification requirements for acceptance of polyethylene pipe products. The Department will only accept products from Manufacturers certified under this supplement.

M252 pipe (ODOT codes 495P31PS or 495 P31NPS) may be used for 10 inch and smaller pipe to meet this specification but the TE-24 must show the 707.33 Material Code 494P33P or 494P33NP.

The manufacturer will ship products using the Department's Virtual Warehouse (TE-24) system. When shipping HDPE materials, the Manufacturer will include a Bill of Lading defining the components being provided under the TE-24 certification with the Shipping Notice.

No sample is required.
