3. Sampling and/or Inspection Requirements:

For materials with specific specification numbers (700 series) see that section in the sampling and testing manual for determining sampling and approval requirements.

Only accept precast panels from suppliers certified under Supplement 1073. Shipment should be made to the project on TE-24. Perform dimensional inspection of the components and reject any pieces not meeting shop drawings. Notify the Office of Materials Management, Cement and Concrete section, when rejecting pieces so a quality assurance evaluation may be performed.

Soil Reinforcements will be accepted on TE-30 with certified test data. For galvanized soil reinforcements perform spot checks of the galvanizing thickness according to ASTM A 123.

Facing Panel Joint Cover will be accepted on certified Test Data. A TE-30 should be completed.

Select Granular Backfill

Materials will be provided by a certified supplier conforming to Supplement 1069. Initial acceptance will be based on contractor provided certified test data on the actual material provided showing conformance to the pH, resistivity, chloride and sulfate levels required by Supplemental Specification 840. In addition, obtain a sample of the delivered aggregate material (100 lbs) and create a TE-30 sample. Submit the sample and test data to the Laboratory, Aggregate section, for validation testing of the aggregate material. Material with acceptable certified test results verified by the Laboratory can be accepted for use.
