ASPHALT PLANT TYPE -

BASIS OF ACCEPTANCE - Identifies the basis on which a specific piece of material is accepted.  Examples are "brand name" and "visual inspection".

BRAND NAME - Brand name of the material provided by the Producer/Supplier.

CONCRETE PLANT TYPE - Two types of concrete plant:  1. Dry Batch/Truck 2.Central

CONVERSION FACTOR - Factor to convert units-of-work-completed material (ex. cubic yards) into the units of material required (ex. tons).

ITEM CODE - Number that lists component parts of an item.

ITEM DESCRIPTION - Description of item from BAMS Item Master.

JOB MIX FORMULA [JMF] - This is where a DET would go to determine if a contractor's proposed design is a new mix, or already exists as an approved JMF.  Once a JMF is established, it can be used on other projects.

MATERIAL CODE - The first three digits are Material Group codes, relating directly to the pre-CMS coding system.  The remaining digits can be defined by the labs as they see fit.

MATERIAL DESCRIPTION - The data which you find on the screens in this subfunction has been input, and is maintained by a small number of people at the Central Test Lab.

MAXIMUM REPRESENTATIVE QUANTITY - Maximum quantity that can be represented by a sample.  The Material Sample screen will edit against this.

PRODUCER/SUPPLIER CODE - The combination of the P/S code and its suffix uniquely identifies the producer of the JMF material.

PURCHASE ORDER - Document issued to vendors with purchasing requirements.

REFERENCE NUMBER - Number that connects a particular item to a project in the proposal.

RESPONSIBLE LOCATION - The location responsible for the producer/supplier.

SAMPLE ID - Uniquely identifies a particular material sample.  The system generates the Sample ID (first 8 numbers); the suffix defaults to -01; related samples become -02, -03, -04.

SPECIAL ITEM - Item not defined by a spec or proposal note, but specially called for in the plans of a project.
