Welcome to the Division of Equal Opportunity

The Division of Equal Opportunity (DoEO) is comprised of the following:  Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE); EEO Contract Compliance (EEOCC); Americans with Disabilities Act/Section 504 (ADA/504); Prevailing Wage; Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity; Internal Civil Rights, and Title VI.  The primary function of DoEO is to ensure that the Ohio Department of Transportation (Department) is in full compliance with all related federal and state non-discrimination laws, regulations, directives, and executive orders in all its programs and activities.  The division is the focal point for equal opportunity compliance activities and functions conducted throughout the Department’s multi-modal transportation divisional programs and statewide activities.

 

Mission Statement:   The mission of the division is to advocate, administer, implement, and monitor the Department’s services and activities, through civil rights programs to ensure compliance with federal and state non-discrimination laws, rules, regulations, and executive orders, as well as policies of the Department. 

Vision:  The division is committed to promoting opportunity and diversity for applicants and employees of the Department, as well as those seeking to do business with the Department.  The division will assist the Department in fulfilling its fundamental value of striving to have a workforce that reflects the diversity of our state by facilitating and endeavoring to achieve full compliance with federal and state civil rights regulations by providing technical assistance and guidance in the area of civil rights to the Department’s state-wide multi-modal transportation divisional programs and staff offices.
