Ohio Traffic Picture

The Office of Traffic Management is responsible for delivering a core part of ODOT's Mission Statement: to make Ohio’s transportation system work better. The Office of Traffic Management oversees many programs that collectively keep traffic moving safely and reliably on Ohio’s major roads​.​


 Traveler Information

The roadway is safer when motorists can access travel time information and be confident that they will reach their destination in an efficient manner.

 Statewide TMC

Ohio's 24/7 Statewide Traffic Management Center (TMC) provides real time traveler information and operates multiple programs/technologies to help facilitate the easy movement of people and goods.

 Weather Management

Weather has a major impact on traffic flow in Ohio. ODOT uses weather data to manage road crews and equipment.

 Incident Management

The Traffic Incident Management group coordinates with, and provides training for regional incident responders.​​​

 Performance Measures

Through data analysis and performance measurement ODOT is better equipped to make the roadway system work more effectively.


ODOT's Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) program integrates operations and traffic management to help the Department better plan for and meet future system needs.

 Emergency Operations

The Emergency Operations team leads efforts in preparing for, responding to, reducing impacts of, and recovering from disasters that impact the roadway system.


The regulations database provides speed zones, school zone extensions, parking restrictions and village signal permits.
