What is the Ohio Planning Conference?
The conference joins transportation planners from across Ohio to discuss emerging trends and new tools for effective transportation planning. It is an important event for promoting professional development, interagency partnerships, and ultimately an improved quality of life for all Ohioans. The conference theme, “Transportation Connects Ohio,” is intended to convey the critical role that Ohio’s transportation system plays in Ohio’s future.
Who should attend?
Transportation planners from both public and private organizations are welcome. The conference will be attended by representatives from government agencies (federal, state, county, township, and municipal), transit agencies, as well as universities and consultants.
Where is the conference held?
The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Columbus (350 North High Street, Columbus, Ohio). For those traveling from out of town, rooms are available at the Hyatt and several other nearby hotels.
What will be discussed?
This year’s conference will include 20 technical sessions discussing various topics, such as:
- Transit needs in Ohio
- Effective public involvement
- Implementation of state, regional, and local transportation plans
- Economic development and freight planning in Ohio
- New planning tools
- Asset and data management
- Innovative local planning initiatives
- Transportation funding opportunities
