Quantum Leaps: Inspiring Advances in Transportation

Sessions will be grouped along five separate tracks:

Quantum Shifts in PolicyPlanning begins with knowing the laws, rules and the funding we use to support projects. Transportation planners must adapt and respond to these evolving conditions to address current and future transportation system needs. This could mean new processes, planning policies, opportunities for funding, or changes in procedures.

Quantum Shifts in Mobility & Safety - Ohio’s multimodal transportation networks provide accessibility and mobility options to meet Ohioans’ travel needs.  Transportation planners are charged with assuring that safety considerations are a component of all transportation infrastructure improvement projects.

Quantum Shifts in SustainabilityTransportation policies, programs, and projects impact Ohio’s natural, economic, and social environments.  Transportation planners needed to assure that our transportation investment decisions advance environmental sustainability for future generations.

Quantum Shifts in Technology - We are always on the verge of creating something new: ITS, GPS, AVL, GIS, CV/AV, renewable energies, logistics, and other advances in technology can present both opportunities and challenges for transportation planners.  Utilizing cutting-edge technologies can help manage and enhance the functionality of our transportation system.

Quantum Shifts in Asset Management - Ohio’s transportation system is one of our greatest assets.  Ensuring that our roads, bridges, barriers, culverts, buses and all other components are maintained and operated to achieve maximum service life is critical to managing the system.  Advances in preservation strategies and techniques for data analytics can result in more streamlined approaches to asset management.
