Class Description: This training is an overview of the implementing regulations of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, (36 CFR Part 800). This is a one-day course overview based on modules developed by the Ohio Historic Preservation Office, presented with an ODOT perspective. Also included is an overview of the four National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) eligibility criteria, including the seven aspects of integrity, as issued by the Keeper of the National Register. It also includes a discussion of boundary determinations, what is considered and not considered when defining boundaries for National Register eligible properties. This class is a course is taught by ODOT OES staff.
Target Audience: A one-day class designed for anyone who prepares environmental documents and a prequalification requirement for consultants who conduct cultural resources investigations for ODOT.
