This funding opportunity will be used to help communities with ODOT approved School Travel Plans make physical changes to encourage and enable students in grades K-8 walk or bike ride to school.  This funding round is for projects to be developed immediately and constructed in FY 2017 (October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2017)

The answer must be yes to the following conditions or the project is ineligible for SRTS Infrastructure funding.
  1. Is the project located within 2 miles of the school, and on a route students will travel from home to school?
  2. Is the SRTS Committee Active? Meeting minutes will be required as an attachment.
  3. Does an ODOT approved School Travel Plan cover the schools identified in this application?

  4. If the project is within an MPO area, there must be support from that MPO.
  5. If the project is funded, does the applicant agree to provide yearly data, (prior to and for 5 years following project completion) using the student travel and parent survey forms developed by the National Center for Safe Routes to School.

The following attachments are required as part of this application, if not submitted project will be disqualified:    
  1. Detailed, certified cost estimate separated by associated school. 
  2. Location Map of proposed infrastructure countermeasures, overlaid on SRTS Radius Map. (or similar)
  3. Updated Action Plan (if different from ODOT approved STP)
  4. Minutes and date of last SRTS committee meeting
  5. Summary only of latest NCSRTS data for target schools
  6. Up to 5 digital photographs of project area
  7. Copy of Ordinance/Resolution. Original will be required if project is selected. If any part of the proposed project is on school property, include joint legislation from jurisdiction and school board.
  8. Support letter from MPO if project is within MPO area. (click here to verify)
  9. If not provided within the past 5 years (click here to verify), a spreadsheet (Excel preferred) including:
  10. Address of each student attending school (include all students, do not include names)
