The Wabash Cannonball Trail runs on two corridors originally established by the Wabash Railroad. The corridors are gradually being converted to trail use. Open sections are listed to the right.
 
The communities of Montpelier, West Unity, Elmira, Wauseon, Monclova & Maumee are located on the 46-mile northern leg, while Liberty Center, Neapolis & Whitehouse are on the 17-mile southern leg. 
 
Unpaved sections have the original ballast surface, good for mountain biking and hiking. Two sections are closed to all traffic.

South Fork:
• SF 1. Liberty Center to the Fulton/Lucas (county line) Road, ballast ... 7.5 miles
• SF 2. Yawberg Rd. to Maumee, paved ... 8.5 miles
