EIT's are compensated at OCSEA Pay Range 31, Step one.  The current OCSEA Pay Range Schedule, effective July 2008  is accessible by clicking ACCESS PAY RANGE SCHEDULE below.  EIT's begin at a pay rate of $19.88 per hour ($41,350).  Following the completion of their 12-month probationary period, including passing the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam,  EIT's are reclassified as Transportation Engineer 1, compensated at Pay Range 32, Step 1, equal to $21.77 per hour ($45,282).  Eight pay range step advances remain in Pay Range 32, offering entry-level engineers an opportunity to earn scheduled increases annually.
