DISTRICT 2 (Bowling Green)
CONSTRUCTION – ZACHARY HRIBAR: Zachary joins the ODOT EIT Program as an Ohio State University graduate where he received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. He maintained a 3.037 GPA while actively being involved with Habitat for Humanity and volunteering for the local food banks. Zachary was a player and Field Maintenance and Equipment Manager for the Ohio State Rugby Club. His experience included being an ODOT intern from 2009 thru 2011. In his spare time, Zachary enjoys reading.
PLANNING & ENGINEERING – ZACHARY PORTER: Zachary has obtained a Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University, graduating with a 3.61 GPA. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers-MTU Student Chapter. Being the recipient of the 2010 ITE Michigan Section Scholarship for the Institute of Transportation Engineers, Zachary has shown his leadership skills as well as his dedication to his education. He was a member of the Blue Key Honor Society where he organized and oversaw matchups for the Winter Carnival Broomball and Yooper Sprint matches. His experience was with the Michigan Department of Transportation.
DISTRICT 3 (ASHLAND)
PLANNING & ENGINEERING – NICHOLAS FOSTER: Nicholas joins the District 3 ODOT team after graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University where he maintained a GPA of 3.23. He achieved the Dean’s list for 3 quarters and was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Nicholas worked as an intern for 2 years where he completed ODOT Level 1 & 2 of FHWA Approved Comprehensive Bridge Inspection Course, acquired training in ODOT Bridge Coding and Inventory and ODOT Load & Resistance Factor Rating.
PLANNING & ENGINEERING – MICHAEL KRONANDER: Michael has obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University where he graduated with a 3.1 GPA. He worked for the Department of Public Service for the City of Columbus. Michael has a focus in structures and he has always had an interest in building things. He enjoys sports, fishing and watching TV.
PLANNING & ENGINEERING – MICHAEL PETERS: Michael holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Toledo. He gained his experience through a mechanical engineering firm where he was able to adapt his Civil Engineering skills to the everyday challenges he faced. He enjoys hanging out with friends and is very active in his church. Michael witnessed his brother graduate from the Air Force basic training and found that to be a very positive moment for him.
PLANNING & ENGINEERING – KATHRYN SHARPNACK: Kathryn will be graduating from The Ohio State University with honors obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in June of 2012. She is currently carrying a GPA of 3.73. Kathryn has gained experience by working as an ODOT summer intern for two summers. She has been on the Dean’s list 8 of the 9 quarters and is involved with in the Women in Engineering and Women In Engineering Connect mentor program. She was the recipient of the Herbert G. Utz Memorial Scholarship Fund and was selected as the D.A. Dickey Scholar for 3 years. She enjoys running, target shooting, hunting and hiking.
CONSTRUCTION – MICHAEL TITUS: A graduate from the University of Toledo with a 3.6 GPA is Civil Engineering, Michael has also obtained his Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering where he maintained a 3.9 GPA. Michael participated in many collegiate activities including intramural sports, was the Advisor of the West Point Bridge Design Competition and the university soccer club. He was awarded the Outstanding Master’s Thesis Award and was on the Dean’s list. Michael also received the University of Toledo’s Tower of Excellence Scholarship. In his spare time, he likes playing golf, flag and fantasy football and he enjoys antique autos.
DISTRICT 4 (AKRON)
CONSTRUCTION – CHRISTOPHER ARNOLD: Christopher will be receiving his Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Akron in the spring of 2012. Chris is now holding a GPA of 3.9, is a Student Chapter Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, an Associate Member of North Canton Jaycees Young Professionals Service Organization, as well as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Stark & Carroll Counties. He gained experience from the GPD Group Inc. in Akron. Chris had the privilege of doing construction work as a Project supervisor for the International Christian School of Budapest, Hungary. He enjoys golfing, skiing, music and softball.
CONSTRUCTION – ALEC PACK: Alec will be receiving his Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering in the Spring of 2012 from Purdue University, where his GPA of 3.34. Alec is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a member of Chi Epsilon Honors Fraternity. His experience from working in the Construction Department for ODOT District 3and was a college intern for the Solar Testing Laboratories. He was the president of his fraternity and enjoys all sports and loves roller coasters.
PLANNING & ENGINEERING – NICHOLAS CHANEY: Nicholas received his Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Youngstown State University, where his GPA was 3.18. He was a college intern for District 4 since 2009 where he gained experience in both the Planning and Construction departments. Nicholas was on the Dean’s list and enjoys working out, golfing, playing video games and watching sports.
DISTRICT 5 (JACKSONTOWN)
CONSTRUCTION – JORDAN ZAMARY: Jordan will graduate from The Ohio State University in the spring of 2012 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering. His current GPA is 3.88. Jordan served as an intern with ODOT in the Office of Traffic and also the Office of Materials Management where he became certified with ODOT for signals and maintenance of traffic. He enjoys barbequing and stamp collecting.
DISTRICT 8 (LEBANON)
CONSTRUCTION – KYLE MILLER: Kyle will receive his Bachelors of Science Civil Engineering Degree from the University of Cincinnati in June of 2012, now holding a GPA of 3.9. Kyle is now in the University of Cincinnati Army ROTC program and will be commissioned upon graduation as 2nd Lieutenant Engineer Officer in the Ohio Army National Guard, 216th Engineer Battalion – Chillicothe, Ohio. He is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers. His experience for the position came from 2 years as a college intern for District 8 and a Field Engineer Co-op with the Turner Construction Co. He enjoys woodworking and 4-H.
DISTRICT 9 (CHILLICOTHE)
OPEN CONCENTRATION - CODY BEUCLER: Cody will earn a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University in June, 2012. He currently holds a GPA of 3.89. Cody is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the OCA Estimating Competition Team, and the OSU Timber Bridge Team. He is a delegate for the Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio and secretary with Chi Epsilon. He will bring with him experience from The Beaver Excavating Company, Kokosing Construction Company, Brown County Highway Department and Korda/Nemeth Engineering Inc. He enjoys farming with his family, hunting, running, riding bikes and giving back to his community through volunteer community service.
OPEN CONCENTRATION - COREY COTTRELL: Corey has been an ODOT college intern and will join District 9 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering upon his graduation from The Ohio State University in March, 2012. He is currently maintaining a GPA of 3.1. Corey has been an intern with ODOT Central Office since January 2011 and has prior experience through the Clark Engineering & Surveying Inc. and was with Keplinger Construction as a Laborer. He enjoys sports, hunting and fishing.
OPEN CONCENTRATION - ZACHARY SCHAAF: Zachary is a graduate of The Ohio State University where he achieved his Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering and finished with a GPA of 3.33. Zachary has experience as an Engineer Assistant with the United States Marine Corps as well as experience in residential and commercial engineering. He was a Project engineer at the EES Group, Inc. in Dublin, Oh. He enjoys spending time with his family, loves the great outdoors and sports. Zachary received an honorable discharge from the Marines.
DISTRICT 10 (MARIETTA)
OPEN CONCENTRATION - JOSEPH SCHOTT: Joe obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Surveying and Mapping in 2007 as well as Construction Engineering Technology degree from The University of Akron in 2008. He has experience with ODOT working with survey crews and engineers processing information for engineering design projects. He was a co-constructor of a Survey drafting class at the Washington State Community College.
DISTRICT 11 (NEW PHILADELPHIA)
CONSTRUCTION – ZACHARY EVICK: Zachary will be graduating from The Ohio State University in June of 2012 where he will graduate with a Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Zach currently holds a GPA of 2.84 and has participated in the Ohio State Community Commitment Day promoting recycling awareness on campus. His work experience includes being a college intern with ODOT District 11. He was a player in Ohio State Intramural Hockey and in the Spring of 2010, a championship member.
