Aerial EngineeringThis office is responsible for airborne data and image collection. The offices duties also include the photogrammetric mapping; aerial photo archiving; map and photo scanning; digital image processing; central support for ODOT survey operations; CORS system maintenance; and USGS map distribution. Geotechnical EngineeringThis office provides geotechnical services and support for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of a safe, accessible transportation system. Functions of this office includes on-site investigating and laboratory testing for subsurface conditions and materials, and assessing risks posed by existing site conditions such as Abandoned Underground Mines. Pavement EngineeringThis office provides ODOT's Districts with standards, policy, procedures, data and research to allow them to provide smooth, quiet, cost effective pavements for the traveling public at a minimum of inconvenience. Production This office provides design and design support service for the efficient and timely development of quality roadway and bridge construction plans that enable the Department to accomplish its delivery of highway improvement projects in accordance with established schedules. Structural EngineeringOSE's mission is to provide ODOT districts with standards, policy, procedures, training, design resources, data and research to allow them to continually monitor and improve the quality of ODOT’s bridge inventory. This support will enable them to provide safe, cost effective, durable and smooth riding bridges for the public, along with providing bridges that meet the needs of Ohio’s growing economy. Roadway EngineeringThis office develops engineering policies, standards, and guidelines providing technical assistance and advancing state of the art engineering practices which ensure a safe and efficient transportation system. This office assists other ODOT districts and offices by acting as a consultant by aiding in the review, design and operation of Ohio's transportation system. Traffic EngineeringOTE provides expertise regarding traffic management and support for both permanent and temporary highway conditions. Responsibilities include: developing and publishing traffic control policies, standards and training materials; providing plan review, signal repair, sign design and fabrication; and evaluating new products, techniques, and concepts. |

Ohio Transportation Engineering Conference (OTEC)The Ohio Transportation Engineering Conference is a two-day conference attended by over 2,400 people from across the United States. OTEC, co-sponsored by the ODOT and the Ohio State University, is organized to provide something for everyone interested in Ohio’s transportation industry. The program addresses the latest policies and technical information, as well as covering new ideas in transportation policies, planning, design, construction, maintenance, operation, local government, and management of transportation resources. |

CADD SupportThis resource section provides information, training and support for the MicroStation© and GEOPAK© Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) programs, standards and accompanying libraries used at ODOT. County Engineer's Association of Ohio The CEAO site provides access and information for Ohio's 88 County Engineer's Offices. The CEAO also coordinated conferences, seminars, and workshops relating to engineering concerns and local transportation systems. Design Reference Resource Center (DRRC)ODOT produces and electronically distributes many engineering related reference materials, including Design Manuals, Specifications and Standard Drawings.
