ReturnALLjobs.pngCurrent ODOT District 9 Job Postings

Nestled in the rolling hills of Appalachia, southern Ohio is known for its beautiful scenery and comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. Yet the eight counties of ODOT District 9 are steeped in a rich archaeological, natural and cultural history that has a place in Ohio’s history and the history of our country. From Native American sites to the Underground Railroad, residents and visitors can take a walk back at sites like the Rankin House along the Ohio River in Ripley or Serpent Mound near Peebles in Adams County. And from state parks and national forests, every county in the district is touched by the beauty of the area’s landscape. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy an afternoon of hiking at Shawnee State Forest in Scioto County, fishing at Paint Creek in Ross County, boating at Rocky Fork Lake in Highland County or golfing at any one of a number of courses in the area.  There are many festivals and events that celebrate the different communities’ heritage and traditions.  Whether it’s the murals along the Portsmouth flood wall or a performance of “Tecumseh” in Chillicothe, the stage is set for a wide array of entertainment in every county.   In addition to the variety of recreational activities, District 9 is served by four-year and two-year state universities offering degree programs in a variety of academic fields.
