Turnpike Mitigation Program



The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), in coordination with the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission (OTIC), has developed a Turnpike Mitigation Program to minimize the impact to communities that are adversely affected by the Turnpike's presence.

Selected projects​ will have a maximum award up to $1 million dollars per project.

Applications will be reviewed by a committee comprised of ODOT and OTIC representatives. 



Project types eligible for consideration  may include:
  • Bridge preservation
  • Minor Resurfacing
  • Noise Walls
  • Drainage Improvements
  • Other Improvements Required for Public Transportation 

Eligible projects must be located within one mile of the Turnpike. 

Project applications must demonstrate an existing adverse impact that is attributed to the presence Turnpike.

Projects must be sponsored by a local government. Project sponsor funding participation is required for consideration.
