Heritage Corridors of Bath

The byway includes all or parts of 12 roads within Bath Township in Summit County. Although Summit County is a very urbanized area, the land along The Heritage Corridors of Bath is rolling and rural in nature, and encompasses the Bath Nature Preserve and a portion of the Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area.  The byway connects three 19th century hamlets, Bath Center, Ghent and Hammond's Corners, and passes by numerous historic structures, including early cemeteries and mills. The byway is best accessed by taking I-77 to Ghent Road (exit 138). Turn north onto Ghent Road, which ends at Cleveland-Massillon Road. Turn right (north) onto Cleveland-Massillon Road, which begins the byway.

 The Hale House

Hale House in Summit County
In 1825, the Hale family began construction of a three-story red brick house using materials from their property. At the time of completion, this was one of only two brick homes in the Cuyahoga Valley. Three generations of the family lived in this house and farmed the property.
