The Old Mill Stream Scenic Byway

The Old Mill Stream Scenic Byway follows the Blanchard River along US 224 and SR 37 in Putnam and Hancock counties. The byway takes its name from the 1910 hit song, "Down by the Old Mill Stream." The tune was written by Hancock County native Tell Taylor while he sat on the banks of the Blanchard. The Old Mill Stream Scenic Byway offers its visitors a pastoral triip through the countryside, featuring parks, farms and historic settings.
