The Ohio Department of Transportation offers assistance, coordination and funding opportunities for grassroots groups wishing to designate a system of roads as a scenic byway. In addition, this website offers visitors links and contact information to help them learn more about the Byways Program.

The Ohio Scenic Byway Program is a grass-roots effort to heighten awareness  of our State's historical and intrinsic resources: cultural, historical, archaeological, recreational, natural and scenic — which collectively enhance the overall traveling experience. Program participation provides subsequent benefits to the community as well, such as a resource preservation, enhancement and protection. To learn more about the steps to becoming a byway, click here.
