Highway Construction

Week of Aug. 5, 2019

The following is work scheduled to occur on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1, which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. The schedule of work is dependent upon weather conditions, and unless otherwise noted, work will take place during daytime hours.

ALLEN COUNTY

Interstate 75 between the Stewart Road overpass and Napoleon Road, between the city of Lima and the village of Beaverdam, will be restricted to one lane in both directions for a pavement resurfacing project. The project also includes repairs on the ramps at the Bluelick Road interchange and on the bridges over Sugar Creek. Lane restrictions will be in place each week from Monday morning to Friday afternoon. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction on weekends. Work will continue through early October. Variable speed limit signs will be in place to display the legal, posted speed limit through the work zone. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay.

State Route 66 between Kolter Road and Deep Cut Road, just south of the village of Spencerville, closed Wednesday, July 17, for approximately 60 days for the replacement of eight culverts. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 117, state Route 116 and state Route 197 back to state Route 66. Work is being performed by Vernon Nagel, Inc., Napoleon. (see map)

State Route 66 between State Road and Landeck Road, south of the city of Delphos, will close Monday, Aug. 5, for approximately five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 697, state Route 116, and state Route 81 back to state Route 66. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage. (see map)

State Route 103 (Jefferson Street) over Riley Creek, between Huber Street and Vance Street within the village of Bluffton, closed Monday, July 1, for approximately four months for a bridge replacement. The closure is located within a larger active work zone for a village water line replacement project, which is already underway between county Road 15 (County Line Road) and Main Street. Local access is maintained throughout the village’s work zone, but traffic is unable to cross the bridge during the ODOT bridge replacement project. Traffic is detoured onto county Road 15 (County Line Road) and Main Street back to Jefferson Street. The bridge replacement project is being performed by Eagle Bridge Company, Sidney.

State Route 117 between Eastown Road and the village of Spencerville will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repairs. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage.

State Route 309 between the Allen County Fairgrounds and the Hardin County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement resurfacing. The project also includes drainage work near the Allen County Fairgrounds. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.

First Street over Flat Fork Creek, east of Pierce Street near Delphos St. John’s School, closed June 17 for approximately 45 days for a bridge replacement. The project is being administered by the Ohio Department of Transportation on behalf of the city of Delphos. Work is being performed by The Eclipse Company, Chagrin Falls.

Third Street over Flat Fork Creek, between Douglas Street and Scott Street within the city of Delphos, closed May 13 for approximately two months for a bridge replacement project. Traffic is detoured onto Scott Street, Second Street, and Douglas Street back to Third Street. The project is being administered by the Ohio Department of Transportation on behalf of the city of Delphos. Work is being performed by The Eclipse Company, Chagrin Falls.

 

DEFIANCE COUNTY

For more information regarding the Clinton Street bridge replacement project within the city of Defiance, visit the project website here. The bridge closed Feb. 25 for approximately nine months for a full replacement.

State Route 18 truck route (Meuse Argonne Street) between Elm Street and Main Street, within the village of Hicksville, closed July 29 for approximately eight weeks for a railroad overpass replacement. State Route 18 (Main Street) is unaffected for passenger vehicles, but truck traffic must detour due to a low-clearance overpass on Main Street. Truck traffic must detour onto Elm Street, Meuse Argonne Street, Industrial Drive, state Route 49, and state route 2 back to state Route 18. Work is being performed by Safety Services Supply. U.S. 127 between the village of Sherwood and the Williams County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for guardrail repairs. Work is being performed by Lake Erie Construction, Norwalk.

 

HANCOCK COUNTY

State Route 235 between the village of McComb and the Wood County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement resurfacing. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay.


HARDIN COUNTY

State Route 67 at township Road 119, west of the city of Kenton, is open early following a project to replace a culvert and reprofile the highway at its intersection with township Road 119. Township Road 119 is now open at state Route 67, as well. However, state Route 67 is now closed just south of this location for the replacement of another culvert, listed below.

State Route 67 between township Road 119 and county Road 95, west of the city of Kenton, closed July 29 for approximately five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 235 and state Route 309 back to state Route 67. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hardin County maintenance garage.

State Route 81 and state Route 235 within the village of Ada will be restricted to one lane at times through the work zone for installation of curb ramps and concrete sidewalks. The work is associated with a larger project to resurface state Route 81 and state Route 235 in and around Ada, as well as state Route 701 in its entirety. Resurfacing work is expected to begin in mid-August. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.

State Route 235 near county Road 90 (Shadley Street), within the village of Alger, will close Thursday, August 1, for approximately five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 309, state Route 195 and county Road 110 back to state Route 235. Work is being performed by the village of Alger. (see map)

State Route 701 between state Route 309 and county Road 75 closed July 1 for approximately 45 days for the replacement of two bridges. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 309 and U.S. 68 back to state Route 709. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay. (see map)

 

PAULDING COUNTY

U.S. 24 throughout Paulding County may be restricted to one lane in each direction at times through the work zone for embankment repairs. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.

State Route 66 just south of state Route 613, near the village of Oakwood, may be restricted to one lane at times through the work zone for drainage repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.

State Route 111 at its intersection with state Route 49, between the villages of Antwerp and Payne, may be restricted to one lane through the work zone for drainage repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.

State Route 114 at its intersection with state Route 49, between the village of Payne and the Van Wert County line, may be restricted to one lane at times through the work zone for drainage repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.

 

PUTNAM COUNTY

State Route 15 just north of state Route 613, east of the village of Continental, closed Monday, July 29, for approximately five days for railroad crossing repairs. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 613 and state Route 634 back to state Route 15. Work is being performed by Safety Services Supply. (see map)

State Route 65 between the village of Ottawa and the Henry County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for drainage structure cleaning. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.

U.S. 224 between the Van Wert County line and the Hancock County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for drainage structure cleaning. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.


VAN WERT COUNTY

The following overpasses over U.S. 30 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for a chip seal project. U.S. 30 is expected to be unaffected. Work is being performed by the ODOT Van Wert County maintenance garage.

·  Shenk Road over U.S. 30

·  Brickner Road over U.S. 30

·  Bockey Road over U.S. 30

·         Converse Roselm Road over U.S. 30

State Route 49 between U.S. 224 and U.S. 30 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for a chip seal project. Work is being performed by the ODOT Van Wert County maintenance garage.

State Route 116 between the Auglaize County line and Middle Point Road, excluding its overlap with state Route 117, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement resurfacing. Work is being performed by The Shelly Company, Findlay.

 

WYANDOT COUNTY

U.S. 23 between county Road 97 and the U.S. 30 interchange, north of Upper Sandusky, will be restricted to one lane in each direction through the work zone for pavement resurfacing. Variable speed limit signs will be in place to display the legal, posted speed limit through the work zone. Work is being performed by The Shelly Company, Findlay.

U.S. 23/U.S. 30 between county Highway 330 and state Route 199, Upper Sandusky, will be restricted to one lane in each direction through the work zone for pavement repairs. Work is being performed by the ODOT Wyandot County maintenance garage.

U.S. 23 between the Marion County line and state Route 53/state Route 67 will be restricted to one lane in each direction through the work zone for guardrail repair. Work is being performed by Lake Erie Construction, Norwalk.

State Route 67 between state Route 103 and the northern corporation limit of Sycamore, within the village of Sycamore, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement resurfacing. Work is being performed by Kokosing Construction Company, Columbus.

State Route 103 just east of state Route 53 closed Monday, July 8, for approximately 45 days for a culvert replacement. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 53 and state Route 67 back to state Route 103. Work is being performed by the ODOT Wyandot County maintenance garage. (see map)

State Route 103 between state Route 199 and the Crawford County line, excluding its overlap with state Route 53, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement resurfacing. Work is being performed by Kokosing Construction Company, Columbus.

State Route 231 between county Highway 330 (Lincoln Highway) and the Seneca County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement resurfacing. Work is being performed by Kokosing Construction Company, Columbus.
