The following is a weekly report concerning construction and maintenance work on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. This report is issued each week beginning in April and continues through November.

Construction and Maintenance Projects
Week of October 19, 2015

Allen County
 
Ohio 117 within the village of Spencerville at Ohio 66 will be closed October 19 for two weeks for a waterline replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 66 to Kolter Road to Monfort Road back to Ohio 117. Work is being performed by the village of Spencerville.

Defiance County

Ohio 49 north of Ohio 249 will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for work beneath the roadway. Traffic will be controlled by the Defiance County ODOT maintenance garage.
 
Hancock County
 
U.S. 224 from Trenton Avenue in Findlay to County Road 212 east of Findlay including Main Street is restricted at some locations for minor finish work following a resurfacing project. Work on Tiffin Avenue is nearly complete with some incidental finish work occurring which will require short-term lane closures. Short-term closures are also occurring on Main Street between Center Street and Trenton Avenue. Work is expected to be completed within the next two weeks. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.
 
Interstate 75 northbound and southbound south of Findlay, from three miles south of the rest areas to the Interstate 75/Ohio 15 interchange is restricted to one lane in each direction for a joint repair and resurfacing project. Paving is complete with berm work, installation of reflective pavement markers and placement of temporary pavement striping continuing. All lanes are expected to be open to traffic during the week and will remain so for approximately two weeks before final pavement striping and installation of rumble strips will resume. Once under way the work is expected to be completed in approximately four days. The project will be complete in late October. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.

Ohio 15 from the Findlay airport to Ohio 37 eastbound and westbound is largely complete with some minor finish work remaining. The route is currently unrestricted but work to complete the project is expected to resume within a few weeks. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
Interstate 75 in Wood and Hancock counties: Through 2016, southbound I-75 is reduced to two lanes from US 20 to I-475 in Perrysburg. Through November, from 8pm until 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75 between the I-75/I-475 interchange in Perrysburg to CR 99 in Hancock County. Through 2016, 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-75 between US 20 in Perrysburg to CR 99 in Hancock County.  Project complete: October 2017. All work is weather permitting.
Special events . . .
  • Effective Monday, April 27, through December, Township Road 101 in Hancock County, between CR 220 and TR 142, will be closed for bridge work on I-75.
 
Hardin County
 
Ohio 31 south of Kenton, south of Ohio 292 between County Road 190 and County Road 200 closed September 14 for a culvert replacement. Due to a delay in material delivery, the project will continue through late October.
Traffic is detoured onto Ohio 292 and Ohio 47 back to Ohio 31. Work is being performed by Vernon Nagel, Inc., Napoleon.
·       Within this current closure area, work to repair the railroad crossing on Ohio 31 just north of County Road 175 south of Kenton began October 12 and will be completed in approximately two weeks. Traffic will utilize the same detour. Work is being performed by CSX Railroad.
 
Paulding County
 
Ohio 114 east of U.S. 127 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage.
 
Ohio 500 from Ohio 49 in Payne to the Indiana state line closed September 30 for pavement repair. Traffic is detoured onto County Road 1, Ohio 613 and Ohio 49 back to Ohio 500. Access to residences and farm fields is maintained. The project will continue through October. Work is being performed by Gerken Paving, Napoleon:

U.S. 127
between Garfield Avenue and Jackson Street in the village of Paulding closed April 13 for approximately eight months for a sewer separation project. Traffic is detoured onto Ohio 111, Ohio 637 and Ohio 114 back onto U.S. 127. Work is being performed by VTF Excavation, Celina.
 
Putnam County
 
Ohio 189 east of Rimer between County Road 18 and Township Road 17 will close October 26 for approximately five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 190, U.S. 224 to Ohio 115 back to Ohio 189. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.
 
Ohio 12 at the west edge of Columbus Grove closed October 7 for approximately five weeks for installation of sanitary sewer. Traffic detoured onto Ohio 65, U.S. 30 and Ohio 115 back to Ohio 12. Work is being performed by Underground Utilities, Inc.
 
Ohio 613 east of West Leipsic is now open following two culvert replacements.
 
Ohio 189 at the east edge of Ottoville closed May 27 for an unplanned culvert repair. The road is expected to reopen to traffic before the beginning of the week, possibly on Friday, October 16. Traffic is being detoured onto Ohio 190, Ohio 634 and U.S. 224 back to Ohio 189.
 
Van Wert County
 
U.S. 30 at U.S. 224 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repairs. Work is being performed by the Van Wert County ODOT maintenance garage.
 
U.S. 224 south of U.S. 30 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repairs. Work is being performed by the Van Wert County ODOT maintenance garage.
 
Wyandot County
 
U.S. 23 at the following locations will be restricted to one lane through the work zone on Friday, October 16 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for guard rail repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT District 1 guard rail department with traffic control by the Wyandot County ODOT maintenance garage:

-Northbound just south of Ohio 67 near Upper Sandusky
-Southbound just south of Ohio 294 near Harpster
-Northbound at Ohio 53 near Upper Sandusky
 
U.S. 23/30 northbound and southbound from south of Ohio 182 to just south of County Road 47 at Upper Sandusky is restricted at certain locations for finish work following a bridge repair and resurfacing project. Work is being performed by Kokosing Construction, Columbus.
·       As part of the project, bridge work on Ohio 53/Ohio 67 over U.S. 23 is nearing completion. No further long-term restrictions on Ohio 53/67 are anticipated.
