The following is the weekly report concerning construction and maintenance work on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. This report is issued each week beginning in April and continues through November.

Construction and Maintenance Projects

Week of September 8, 2014

Allen County

Interstate 75 Reconstruction Project For the most recent information concerning the Interstate 75 reconstruction project through Lima and Allen County please visit www.odotlima75.org

 

U.S. 30 westbound between Beaverdam and Ohio 65 will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the Allen County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Ohio 81 from Stewart Road to the Hardin County line is restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement resurfacing. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay.

 

U.S. 30/Ohio 309 near Delphos may be restricted to one lane at times through the work zone for culvert work. Work is expected to be completed in the fall. Work is being performed by Platinum Painting, Boardman.

Defiance County

 

U.S. 127 in the village of Sherwood is now open following a railroad crossing repair.

 

U.S. 24 entrance and exit ramps throughout Defiance County may be restricted for shoulder work. Work is being performed by the Defiance County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Hancock County

 

U.S. 224 interchange at Interstate 75 reconstruction, Findlay

 

The U.S. 224 interchange with Interstate 75, Findlay, is currently being reconstructed. The project began in February and is expected to be completed late this fall. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers Construction, Archbold.

 

The following traffic impacts related to the reconstruction are in effect or will occur in the upcoming weeks:

 

Interstate 75

 

-Both the northbound and southbound lanes are currently narrowed and shifted approaching the U.S. 224 interchange.

 

- Lane restrictions will continue both northbound and southbound for overhead work at the bridge. Restrictions will occur between 9 p.m. and 10 a.m.

 

U.S. 224


-All ramps at the interchange are now open and will remain open for the duration of the project.

 

-Traffic on the bridge is one lane in each direction with a turn lane and is traveling on the north side of the bridge.

-Short-term, daytime lane closures should be expected throughout the week. Traffic maintained at times with flaggers.

-Motorists are cautioned to watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting at various locations throughout the work zone on U.S. 224 and along the interchange ramps.

U.S. 30 eastbound between Ohio 235 and County Road 12 will be one lane through the work zone Monday through Wednesday of the week for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the Hancock County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Interstate 75 between Ohio 235 and the city of Findlay will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is taking place in the northbound direction, beginning at Ohio 235 and continuing north. Traffic restrictions will be in place during weekdays and will be removed on the weekends. Work is being performed by Becdir Construction, Berlin Center.

 

Ohio 568 between Blanchard Avenue in Findlay to County Road 180 is currently not restricted for pavement repair and resurfacing. The project is temporarily suspended to allow adjoining work by the city of Findlay to take place. The project will resume in September. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay.

 

Hardin County

 

Ohio 31 from the Union County line to Ohio 292 is restricted to one lane through the work zone during pavement resurfacing. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay.

Paulding County

 

Ohio 111 from U.S. 127 to Ohio 637 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for berm work. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

U.S. 127 from the north corporation limit of the village of Paulding to the Defiance County line is restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement resurfacing. The project will continue through October. Work is being performed by Gerken Paving, Napoleon.

 

Ohio 111 from the west corporation limit of the village of Paulding (Ohio 500) to U.S. 127 is restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement resurfacing. The project will continue through October. Work is being performed by Gerken Paving, Napoleon.

 

Putnam County

 

Pavement repair will take place at the following locations during the week with traffic maintained through the work zone. Work is being performed by the Putnam County ODOT maintenance garage:

 

-Ohio 15 between Ohio 634 and Ottawa

-Ohio 613 between Ohio 108 and Ohio 109

-Ohio 108 between Ohio 15 and Ohio 613

-Ohio 109 between Ottawa and Ohio 613

 

Ohio 115 from the Allen County line to the north edge of Kalida will be restricted through the work zone for pavement repairs. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. The project will continue through October. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.

 

Ohio 109 will close September 9 to upgrade a culvert between County Road B and County Road X for approximately five days. Traffic will be detoured from Ohio 109 on to Ohio 613, Ohio 108, Ohio 18 and then back to Ohio 109. Work is being performed by the Putnam County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Van Wert County

 

There are no projects scheduled during the week which will significantly affect traffic.

 

Wyandot County

 

Ohio 199 south of Carey between Ohio 103 and Township Highway 28 will be closed for a culvert replacement for 30 days, likely beginning Wednesday, September 10.  Traffic detoured onto U.S. 23 back to Ohio 199. Work is being performed by Alvada Construction, Alvada.

 

U.S. 23 between the city of Upper Sandusky and the village of Carey will be restricted through the work zone for pavement repairs. Work is being performed by the Wyandot County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Ohio 53/67 (8th Street/Marseilles Avenue) in the city of Upper Sandusky from High Street to Wyandot Avenue is restricted to one lane through the work zone for water line installation and pavement repair. The project is expected to continue until mid-October. Work is being performed by Park Enterprises, Marion.
