The following is a weekly report concerning construction and maintenance work on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. This report is issued each week beginning in April and continues through November.

Construction and Maintenance Projects
Week of November 2, 2015

Allen County
 
Ohio 117 within the village of Spencerville is now open following a waterline replacement project.
 
Interstate 75 Reconstruction project For the most recent information concerning the Interstate 75 reconstruction project through Lima and Allen County please visit www.odotlima75.org.
 
Defiance County

Ohio 15 north from U.S. 24 to the Williams County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the ODOT Defiance County maintenance garage.
 
Ohio 281 (Domersville Road) just south of U.S. 24 closed October 29 for approximately four days for a railroad crossing repair. Traffic is detoured onto Ohio 18 (Second Street), Ohio 15/18/66 (Clinton Street) and U.S. 24 back to Ohio 281. Work is being performed by Pioneer Rail Services.
 
Hancock County
 
Interstate 75 northbound and southbound from north of Bluffton (mile marker 145) to Rawson (mile marker 150) will b e reduced to one lane through the work zone on Monday and Tuesday of the week for pavement repair. Work will occur between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Work is being performed by ODOT Hancock County maintenance garage.
 
U.S. 68 at select locations within Hardin and Hancock counties will be restricted to one lane through the work zone during installation of rumble strips down the center line. The strips will be installed at the following locations. Work will begin at the southernmost point and continue to the north. Work is being performed by ML Markings, Columbus:
-From the Logan County line to the south edge of the city of Kenton
-From north of the city of Kenton to the south edge of the village of Dunkirk
-North of the village of Arlington to the south edge of the city of Findlay
 
U.S. 224 from Trenton Avenue in Findlay to County Road 212 east of Findlay including Main Street is restricted at some locations for minor finish work following a resurfacing project. Work will continue through the week. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.
 
Interstate 75 northbound and southbound south of Findlay, from three miles south of the rest areas to the Interstate 75/Ohio 15 interchange will be restricted through the work zone during the week during installation of rumble strips. The project will be completed within a week. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.

Ohio 15 from the Findlay airport to Ohio 37 eastbound and westbound is largely complete with some minor finish work remaining. The route may be restricted during the week at some locations while work to complete the project occurs. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
Interstate 75 in Wood and Hancock counties: Through 2016, southbound I-75 is reduced to two lanes from US 20 to I-475 in Perrysburg. Through November, from 8pm until 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75 between the I-75/I-475 interchange in Perrysburg to CR 99 in Hancock County. Through 2016, 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-75 between US 20 in Perrysburg to CR 99 in Hancock County.  Project complete: October 2017. All work is weather permitting.
Special events . . .
  • Effective Monday, April 27, through December, Township Road 101 in Hancock County, between CR 220 and TR 142, will be closed for bridge work on I-75.
 
Hardin County
 
Ohio 273 between Ohio 292 and Ohio 31 will be closed November 5 for approximately 10 days for a railroad crossing repair. Traffic detoured onto Ohio 292 and Ohio 31 back to Ohio 273. Work is being performed by CSX Railroad.
 
U.S. 68 at select locations within Hardin and Hancock counties will be restricted to one lane through the work zone during installation of rumble strips down the center line. ·       From the Logan County line to the south edge of the city of Kenton

·       North of the village of Arlington to the south edge of the city of Findlay
 
Ohio 701 between U.S. 68 and Ohio 309 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hardin County maintenance garage.
 
Ohio 31 in the village of Mount Victory will be closed October 30 for approximately five days for a railroad crossing repair. Traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 292 and Ohio 47 back to Ohio 31. Work is being performed by CSX Railroad and Vorst Paving.
 
Ohio 31 in the city of Kenton between Decatur Street and Espy Street closed October 28 for approximately two weeks for a railroad crossing repair. Traffic is detoured onto U.S. 68, County Road 140 (Letson Avenue) back to Ohio 31. Work is being performed by CSX Transportation.
 
Ohio 31 south of Kenton just north of County Road 175 closed October 12 for approximately two weeks for a railroad crossing repair. The route at this location is expected to reopen by the beginning of the week, possibly on Friday, October 30. Traffic is detoured onto Ohio 292 and Ohio 47 back to Ohio 31. Work is being performed by CSX Railroad. (Note: a culvert replacement project south of this location, which utilized the same detour, has been completed and is reopened.)
 
Paulding County
 
U.S. 127 within Van Wert and Paulding counties will be restricted to one lane through the work zone during installation of rumble strips down the center line. Work is expected to begin within the next two weeks. The strips will be installed from the Mercer County line to the south edge of the village of Paulding, excluding the city of Van Wert. Work will begin at the southernmost point and continue to the north. Work is being performed by ML Markings, Columbus.
 
Ohio 500 between the village of Payne and the village of Paulding will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.
 
Ohio 49 between Ohio 111 and the village of Antwerp will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.
 
Ohio 500 from Ohio 49 in Payne to the Indiana state line closed September 30 for pavement repair. The route is expected to reopen on Friday, October 30. Traffic is detoured onto County Road 1, Ohio 613 and Ohio 49 back to Ohio 500. Access to residences and farm fields is maintained. Work is being performed by Gerken Paving, Napoleon.

U.S. 127
between Garfield Avenue and Jackson Street in the village of Paulding closed April 13 for approximately eight months for a sewer separation project. The route may reopen by the beginning of the week. Traffic is detoured onto Ohio 111, Ohio 637 and Ohio 114 back onto U.S. 127. Work is being performed by VTF Excavation, Celina.
 
Putnam County
 
Ohio 189 east of Rimer between County Road 18 and Township Road 17 is now open following a culvert replacement.
 
Ohio 12 at the west edge of Columbus Grove closed October 7 for approximately five weeks for installation of sanitary sewer. Traffic detoured onto Ohio 65, U.S. 30 and Ohio 115 back to Ohio 12. Work is being performed by Underground Utilities, Inc.
 
Van Wert County
 
U.S. 127 within Van Wert and Paulding counties will be restricted to one lane through the work zone during installation of rumble strips down the center line. Work is expected to begin within the next two weeks. The strips will be installed from the Mercer County line to the south edge of the village of Paulding, excluding the city of Van Wert. Work will begin at the southernmost point and continue to the north. Work is being performed by ML Markings, Columbus.
 
Wyandot County
 
U.S. 23/30 northbound and southbound from south of Ohio 182 to just south of County Road 47 at Upper Sandusky is restricted at certain locations for finish work following a bridge repair and resurfacing project. The project will continue through the week. Work is being performed by Kokosing Construction, Columbus.
