Highway Construction
Week of Sept. 17, 2018

The following is work scheduled to occur on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1, which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. The schedule of work is dependent upon weather conditions, and unless otherwise noted, work will take place during daytime hours.

ALLEN COUNTY
 
Interstate 75 between Bentley Road and state Route 103, Bluffton, will be restricted to one lane at times for a bridge repair project on I-75 over Riley Creek and on the county Road 15 bridge over Interstate 75. A maximum width restriction of 13 feet is in place during lane restrictions. The project is expected to be completed in late September. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers Construction, Archbold.
 
Interstate 75 over Little Riley Creek, just north of Beaverdam, is no longer restricted following a bridge repair project.
 
Interstate 75 between state Route 81 and Napoleon Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage.
 
Interstate 75 between state Route 81 and Stewart Road will be restricted to one lane in both directions nightly for the installation of pavement sensors. Lane restrictions will generally last between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. The project is expected to continue through late September. Work is being performed by Digital Traffic Systems, Inc., Ashland, Virginia.
 
State Route 65 between Grand Avenue and state Route 115, Lima, is reduced to one lane through the work zone at various locations for work related to a roadway rehabilitation project that will last through the summer. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
The following impacts to traffic are occurring:
  • Traffic on state Route 65 between Northern Avenue and Jacobs Avenue, just north of Casa Lu Al Restaurant, has been switched onto the northbound side of the roadway while widening work takes place on the southbound side.
    • One lane of traffic is maintained in both directions. The turn lane is not available.
    • Traffic delays can be expected during the project.
  • State Route 65 between Grand Avenue and Northern Avenue will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for resurfacing. Paving will begin during the week on some sections of the project.
  • Intersection widening work will take place on Saturday, Sept. 15 at Bluelick Road and state Route 65 with traffic maintained.
 
State Route 81 from Wapak Road to Eastown Road, Lima, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement resurfacing. Work is expected to continue through late September. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
State Route 81 between McClure Road and Fisher Road, west of Lafayette, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement resurfacing. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.
 
State Route 196 between state Route 117 and the Auglaize County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for drainage repairs. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage.
 
State Route 309 between Easton Road and Robb Avenue, within the city of Lima, will be minimally affected by traffic signal equipment replacements at multiple intersections. Occasional flagging operations may be necessary while equipment above the intersection is replaced. Work is expected to continue through late September. Work is being performed by Perram Electric, Wadsworth.
 
Elida Road from just south of Fifth Street (Lincoln Highway) in the city of Delphos to its intersection with state Route 309 will close Sept. 17 for approximately 45 days during a joint and pavement repair project. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 309, U.S. 30 and Fifth Street back to Elida Road. The project is being administered by the Ohio Department of Transportation for the Allen County Engineer’s Office. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
DEFIANCE COUNTY
 
There is no work scheduled to impact highway traffic significantly in Defiance County during the week of Sept. 17.
 
HANCOCK COUNTY

Interstate 75 between Bentley Road and state Route 103, Bluffton, will be restricted to one lane at times for a bridge repair project on I-75 over Riley Creek and on the county Road 15 bridge over Interstate 75. A maximum width restriction of 13 feet is in place during lane restrictions. The project is expected to be completed in late September. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers Construction, Archbold.
 
U.S. 68 between Liberty Street and the bridge over Buck Run, within the village of Arlington, closed July 9 for approximately four months for pavement reconstruction. Local access will be maintained throughout the project. Work is being performed by Miller Contracting Group, Ottoville.
 
The following detours will be in place through the duration of the project.
·        U.S. 68 northbound traffic is detoured onto U.S. 30, state Route 235 and Interstate 75 back onto U.S. 68. (see map)
·        U.S. 68 southbound traffic is detoured onto state Route 15, U.S. 23 and U.S. 30 back onto U.S. 68. (see map)
 
State Route 330 between North Street and state Route 568, north of Vanlue, will be restricted to one lane for a resurfacing project. Some work has occurred on the project, but the majority of work will take place in October. Work is being performed by M&B Asphalt, Tiffin.
 
State Route 330 over state Route 15, Vanlue, closed May 29 for approximately four months for a bridge deck replacement. Lane restrictions on state Route 15 approaching the bridge are in place through the duration of the project. Work is being performed by E.S. Wagner, Oregon.

The following detours are in place through the duration of the project.
·        State Route 330 northbound traffic is detoured onto state Route 15 eastbound, U.S. 23/state Route 103, and state Route 15 westbound back onto state Route 330. (see map)
·        State Route 330 southbound traffic is detoured onto state Route 15 westbound, state Route 37 and state Route 15 eastbound back to state Route 330. (see map)

State Route 568 between Bright Road in Findlay and the village of Carey will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for a resurfacing project. The project is expected to complete in late September. Work is being performed by M&B Asphalt, Tiffin.
 
HARDIN COUNTY
 
State Route 67 between the city of Kenton and the Wyandot County line, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for finish work associated with a pavement repair and resurfacing project. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
State Route 67 between the Auglaize County line and state Route 117 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for a resurfacing project. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
State Route 81 west of U.S. 68, within the village of Dunkirk, is now open following railroad crossing repairs.
 
State Route 117 between state Route 67 and state Route 235 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for a resurfacing project. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
State Route 235 between state Route 67 and township Road 160, north of Roundhead, is now open following a culvert replacement.
 
State Route 235 between the Logan County line and state Route 117 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for a resurfacing project. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
State Route 235 between the village of Ada and state Route 309, as well as between the village of Alger and state Route 67, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repairs. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hardin County maintenance garage.
 
State Route 309 between the Allen County line and the city of Kenton, including its overlap with state Route 235, will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for resurfacing. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.
 
State Route 701 between township Road 139 and township Road 145, west of U.S. 68, closed Sept. 10 for approximately five days for railroad crossing repair. Traffic is detoured onto U.S. 68 and state Route 309 back to state Route 701. Work is being performed by Safety Services Supply. (see map)
 
PAULDING COUNTY
 
U.S. 24 between county Road 87 and U.S. 127, near the village of Cecil, will be restricted to one lane in both directions during soil boring operations. Work is being performed by ODOT Central Office.
 
State Route 500 near county Road 71 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for drainage repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.
 
State Route 613 between county Road 71 and state Route 500 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for the installation of a catch basin. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.
 
PUTNAM COUNTY
 
State Route 190 at township Road Q, north of Fort Jennings, closed Aug. 13 for approximately four months for the installation of a retaining wall along the Auglaize River. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 634 and U.S. 224 back to state Route 190. Work is being performed by Kokosing Construction Company, Columbus. (see map)
 
State Route 613 between Seventh Street and township Road 20, just east of the village of Continental, will close Sept. 24 for approximately five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 634 and state Route 15 back to state Route 613. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage. (see map)
 
State Route 634 between county Road N and township Road M, south of Cloverdale, will close Sept. 17 for approximately five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 224, state Route 66 and state Route 114 back to state Route 634. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage. (see map)

VAN WERT COUNTY
The following portions of state Route 116 in Van Wert County will be affected by culvert replacement projects. Work is being performed by the ODOT Van Wert County maintenance garage.
 
·        State Route 116 just south of Monticello Spencerville Road, west of Spencerville, closed Sept. 10 for approximately five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 197, state Route 66 and state Route 117 back to state Route 116. (see map)
·        State Route 116 between Ireland Road and Gamble Road, east of the city of Van Wert, will close Sept. 17 for approximately five days for the replacement of a culvert. Traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 127 and state Route 709 back to state Route 116. (see map)
·        State Route 116 just south of Middle Point Road, east of the city of Van Wert, will close Sept. 24 for approximately five days for the replacement of a culvert. Traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 127 and state Route 709 back to state Route 116. (see map)
 
WYANDOT COUNTY

U.S. 23 between the village of Carey and the Seneca County line will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for a chip seal project. Work is being performed by the ODOT Wyandot County maintenance garage.
 
U.S. 23/U.S. 30 median crossovers at county Highway 121 and county Highway 50 are now closed. For more information on the median closures and associated traffic pattern changes, please see a press release issued here.
 
U.S. 30 between the Hancock County line and county Highway 330 will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the work zone for a resurfacing project. Work is being performed by American Pavements, Inc., Plain City.
 
State Route 103 between the Hancock County line and the village of Carey will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for a chip seal project. Work is being performed by the ODOT Wyandot County maintenance garage.
 
State Route 199 between U.S. 23 and the city of Upper Sandusky, south of Upper Sandusky, will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for a chip seal project. Work is being performed by the ODOT Wyandot County maintenance garage.
 
State Route 568 between Bright Road in Findlay and the village of Carey will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for a resurfacing project. Work is being performed by M&B Asphalt, Tiffin.
