The following is work scheduled to occur on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. The schedule of work is dependent upon weather conditions and, unless otherwise noted, work will take place during daytime hours.

ALLEN COUNTY
 
 
 
Interstate 75 between state Route 81 to just north of Fourth Street will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for repair of pavement under warranty. Work is expected to begin Monday, Oct. 23, and will occur in both the northbound and southbound direction from approximately 3 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. The repair is expected to continue for approximately three weeks. Work is being performed by Kokosing Construction, Columbus.
 
 
 
State Route 309 westbound (Elida Road) between Robb Avenue and Homeward Avenue is reduced to one lane for installation of a sidewalk. Work is occurring during daytime hours only and is expected to be completed by the beginning of the week. No lane restrictions will remain during overnight hours. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen and Hancock County maintenance garages.
 
 
 
The following locations will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage:
 
·        State Route 81 from Kemp Road to the Van Wert County line
 
·        State Route 309, east of Lima, from the Allen County fairgrounds to the Hardin County line
 
·        State Route 117 from Eastown Road to Spencerville
 
·        State Route 117 from the Allen County fairgrounds to the Hardin County line
 
 
 
U.S. 30, both eastbound and westbound, between Beaverdam and the Hancock County line will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage.
 
 
 
Interstate 75, and also Bentley Road and Napoleon Road will be affected during bridge deck replacements on Napoleon Road over Interstate 75, Beaverdam, and Bentley Road over Interstate 75, Bluffton. Work is being performed by Eagle Bridge, Sidney. The following are current impacts related to the project:
 
 
 
Napoleon Road
 
  • Napoleon Road bridge over I-75 closed May 22 and will remain closed until late October.
    • Traffic detoured onto Sugar Creek Road, Swaney Road and Lincoln Highway (state Route 696) back to Napoleon Road.
  • The northbound exit ramp from Interstate 75 to Napoleon Road closed May 30 until late October.
    • Traffic detoured north on Interstate 75, east on Lincoln Highway (state Route 696), south on Swaney Road and west on Sugar Creek Road back to Napoleon Road; or west onto Lincoln Highway (state Route 696) back to S. West Street in Beaverdam.
  • The entrance ramp to Interstate 75 southbound from Napoleon Road will remain open
  • Motorists traveling northbound on Interstate 75 wishing to access state Route 696 are advised to do so via exit 135 (state Route 696/U.S. 30) at Beaverdam. No access to state Route 696 from Interstate 75 northbound at the Napoleon Road exit will be available.
 
 
 
Bentley Road (exit 140)
 
  • Two bridges on Bentley Road at exit 140 (one over Interstate 75 and one over the railroad north of Interstate 75) closed June 5. Bentley Road and the southbound entrance ramp are scheduled to open Friday, Oct. 20. The opening of the southbound exit ramp may be delayed until power for a traffic signal at the ramp is available.
    • Interstate 75 northbound traffic will be detoured to the state Route 103 (exit 142) interchange back to Bentley Road.
    • Interstate 75 southbound traffic is advised to access Bentley Road via the state Route 103 interchange (exit 142) and follow state Route 103 through Bluffton back to Bentley Road.
  • The northbound ramps at the interchange remain open; however, left turns onto Bentley Road from northbound Interstate 75 are not permitted.
 
 
 
 
Interstate 75
 
  • Interstate 75 both northbound and southbound will be periodically reduced to one lane at times beneath both the Napoleon Road and Bentley Road bridge structures during certain operations related to construction.
  • Lane closures will occur sporadically and are expected to occur mostly during daytime hours but some nighttime closures may occur.
 
 
 
DEFIANCE COUNTY
 
 
 
State Route 18 east of Defiance, between Harris Road and Standley Road, will be reduced to one lane through the work zone during drainage repair work. Work is being performed by the ODOT Defiance County maintenance garage.
 
 
 
State Route 18 west of Hicksville closed Oct. 16 for approximately one month for water line installation. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 2 to Indiana state Route 37 to Indiana state Route 101 back to state Route 18. Work is being performed by Vernon Nagel Inc., Napoleon, for the village of Hicksville.
 
 
 
 
U.S. 24 between state Route 15 to Baltimore Street is restricted to one lane through the work zone for bridge repair and cleaning at the Tiffin River, West High Street and Maumee River bridges. Work on the initial phase of the project will be completed by the beginning of the week. Work will suspend temporarily and will resume later this fall. Work is being performed by Advanced Materials LLC, Dublin.
 
 
 
U.S. 24 between Baltimore Street and U.S. 127 is reduced to one lane through the work zone for repair of pavement under warranty. Work will occur during daytime hours only and will occur in both the eastbound and westbound direction. Work is expected to continue for approximately three weeks. Work is being performed by Allega Cement Contractors, Valley View.
 
 
 
State Route 18 between township Road 115 and Glenburg Road closed August 28 for culvert replacements at three locations: two located west of Sherwood, one east of Sherwood. Work is being performed by Vernon Nagel Construction, Napoleon. Closures will occur consecutively as follows:
 
·        Culvert #1, located between Cicero Road and Rosedale Road, has been completed and that section of the highway has been reopened. However, a detour remains in place for the closure associated with culvert #2.
 
·        Culvert #2, located between Openlander Road and Behnfeldt Road, closed Sept. 25 and is scheduled to open Friday, Oct. 20. ·        Culvert #3, located between Flickinger Road and Glenburg Road, will close Oct. 23 for 30 days. Traffic detoured onto U.S. 24 and U.S. 127 back to state Route 18.
 
 
 
 
HANCOCK COUNTY

Interstate 75 northbound just north of state Route 103, Bluffton, will have reduced-width lanes through the work zone for replacement of curb and guardrail. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained the majority of time, but some intermittent lane closures will occur during daytime and nighttime hours. The project is expected to be completed before the beginning of the week. Work is being performed by Eagle Bridge, Sidney.
 
 
 
HARDIN COUNTY
 
 
 
Pavement repair will take place at the following locations with traffic maintained through the work zone. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hardin County maintenance garage:
 
·        State Route 67 both east of west of the city of Kenton
 
·        State Route 235 from state Route 67 to state Route 309
 
 
 
State Route 117 just south of Roundhead will close Oct. 25 for approximately three weeks for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 235 and U.S. 33 back to state Route 117. Work is being performed by VTF, Celina.
 
 
 
 
State Route 31 between township Road 265 and state Route 273, north of Mount Victory, is now open following repair work on a bridge over Painter Creek, just south of township Road 206, and a bridge over Wolf Creek, north of township Road 265. Some lane restrictions continue but are expected to conclude by the beginning of the week.
 
 
 
State Route 235 between county Road 110 and township Road 120, south of Alger, is now open following a culvert replacement.
 
 
 
PAULDING COUNTY
 
 
 
U.S. 127 just south of state Route 613, Latty, will close Oct. 25 for approximately 10 days for a railroad crossing repair. Traffic detoured onto state Route 114, state Route 637 and state Route 613 back to U.S. 127. Work is being performed by Roadsafe Traffic Systems.
 
 
 
Berm replacement will take place at the following locations with traffic maintained through the work zone. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage:
 
·        State Route 613 from U.S. 127 to the Putnam County line
 
·        State Route 637 from the Defiance County line to the Van Wert County line
 
 
 
State Route 111 approximately one mile east of the Indiana state line is now open following roadway repair.
 
 
 
Ramp repair along U.S. 24 will take place at the following locations. The ramps will remain open during the repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage:
 
·        U.S. 127
 
·        State Route 49
 
 
 
U.S. 24 lane restrictions both eastbound and westbound from the Indiana line to the Defiance County line for berm repair are expected to conclude by the beginning of the week. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers Construction, Archbold.
 
 
 
State Route 114 between U.S. 127 and the Putnam County line will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for resurfacing. The project will continue for approximately two more weeks for finish work. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
 
 
State Route 637 resurfacing in Grover Hill is essentially complete with minor finish work remaining which is expected to have little impact to traffic. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
 
 
PUTNAM COUNTY
 
 
 
County Road 12, between 613 and township Road F-12, will close Oct. 30 for approximately five days for a culvert replacement beneath County Road 12. No access to county Road 12 southbound from state Route 613 will be possible. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.
 
 
 
State Route 65 north of the village of Belmore will close Oct. 20 for approximately three days for a railroad crossing repair. Traffic detoured onto state Route 613, state Route 109 and state Route 18 back to state Route 65. Work is being performed by CSX Railroad.
 
 
 
 
State Route 65 near county Road 5 is currently scheduled to close Oct. 24 for three days for a railroad crossing repair. Traffic detoured onto state Route 613, state Route 109 and state Route 18 back to state Route 65. Work is being performed by CSX Railroad.
 
 
 
 
State Route 189 in the village of Rimer between Main Street and Water Street will close Oct. 23 for approximately three days for removal of a railroad bed. Traffic detoured onto state Route 634, U.S. 224 and state Route 115 back to state Route 189. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.
 
 
 
 
State Route 109 just south of Road C-H, north of Ottawa, will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.
 
 
 
State Route 190 between Fort Jennings and U.S. 224 closed Oct. 9 for approximately one month during pavement repair. Access to residences will be maintained during the closure. Resurfacing of the route will follow pavement repairs. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 634 and U.S. 224. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.
 
 
 
 
VAN WERT COUNTY
 
 
 
State Route 709 between Jonestown Road and Venedocia Street/Marys Road, west of Venedocia, closed Oct. 9 for approximately 14 days for bridge repair at two locations. Traffic detoured onto state Route 116, state Route 81 and U.S. 127 back to state Route 81. Work is being performed by Global Outdoor Solutions, Cleveland.
 
 
 
 
U.S. 30, both eastbound and westbound, is restricted to one lane through the work zone at the following locations for projects which will repair the pavement and joints, improve drainage and resurface the route. The project will complete in early November. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay:
 
·        From just east of township Road 127 to just east of county Road 185
 
·        From U.S. 224 to near the Indiana state line
 
·        Paving is under way with traffic reduced to one lane through the work zone.
 
·        The eastbound and westbound rest areas on U.S. 30 west of Van Wert are now open following repair and resurfacing of the entrances and exits.
 
·        The truck weigh station is now open following repair and resurfacing of the entrance and exit, parking lot and sidewalk.
 
 
 
o   The ramps at the U.S. 224 interchange with U.S. 30 will be affected by the project as follows:
 
§  The exit ramp from westbound U.S. 30 to U.S. 224 and the entrance ramp from U.S. 224 to westbound U.S. 30 closed Sept. 21 for approximately 21 days. The ramps are expected to reopen early in the week. http://www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D01/detours/Documents/VAN-30_224-4.05_11.44.pdf
 
·        U.S. 30 westbound to U.S. 224 traffic detoured onto U.S. 30 westbound to state Route 49 back to U.S. 224.
 
·        U.S. 224 to U.S. 30 westbound traffic detoured onto U.S. 30 eastbound to U.S. 127 back to U.S. 30 westbound.
 
§  The ramps on the south side of the interchange will remain open.
 
§  All ramps at the interchange will be resurfaced.
 
 
 
WYANDOT COUNTY
 
 
 
State Route 199, both northbound and southbound, beneath U.S. 23, north of Upper Sandusky, will be reduced to one lane through the work zone during pavement repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Wyandot County maintenance garage.

 
U.S. 23 rest areas, both northbound and southbound, north of Upper Sandusky, closed Sept. 18 for approximately three months during a remodel project. No access to the park grounds will be permitted during the closure.
 
 
 
U.S. 23 and state Route 15 near their interchange with state Route 103, south of Carey, are reduced to one lane in each direction for work related to the removal of two bridge structures over abandoned railroads. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers Construction Inc., Archbold. The following are traffic impacts related to the project:
 
  • Northbound traffic on U.S. 23/state Route 15 has been switched back to the east side of the highway.
  • One lane of traffic in both the northbound and southbound direction is maintained through the work zone during paving operations which will continue for approximately three weeks. The ramps at state Route 103 are also being resurfaced with traffic maintained.
  • The exit ramp from U.S. 23 northbound/state Route 15 westbound to continue onto U.S. 23 is now open. All ramps at the interchange are open.
State Route 53 between state Route 103 and county Road 2, McCutchenville, is now open following bridge replacements over Thorn Run and Tymochtee Creek.
