67 ODOT crews are currently operating on the highways within the eight-county area of ODOT District 1.
As expected, good progress was made today in returning highways to better conditions with repeated application of salt and warming temperatures.
Most highways now have some bare pavement.  Motorists are cautioned to continue to watch for icy conditions as patches of ice will likely remain, especially since light snow is now falling.
The public is reminded to not place snow from private drives onto highways. This is an illegal practice which can also create a safety hazard for motorists who may hit or be forced to maneuver around the obstruction in the roadway.
Some local county sheriff’s departments have travel advisories still in place. Motorists should check with local departments on the status of travel in their county.
