Highway Construction
Week of November 14, 2016

The following is work scheduled to occur in the coming week on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. Allen County
 
Interstate 75 reconstruction from the Auglaize County line to Fourth Street, through Lima and Allen County, is complete. The 70 mile-per-hour speed limit has been reinstated.
 
Interstate 75 both northbound and southbound from just north of Ohio 81 to Beaverdam will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage.
 
Ohio 309 (Elida Road) from Eastown Road to U.S. 30, including the village of Elida, is restricted for widening, curb and gutter installation, drainage improvements and resurfacing. The project will continue through November. Work is being performed by VTF Excavation LLC, Celina.
 
The following impacts are occurring or upcoming:
 
o   Normal traffic patterns are expected to resume before the beginning of the week. Occasional lane closures will be needed at select locations to complete work at driveways and for signage installation and pavement striping.
 
Ohio 117 and Ohio 501 (Wapak Road) intersection realignment and widening project and construction of left-turn lanes on Ohio 117 began June 30. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton. The following impacts to traffic are occurring or upcoming:
  • Finish work on Ohio 117 such as intersection lighting will occur in the coming weeks and may require short-term lane closures.
 
Defiance County
 
Ohio 18 between County Road 139 and County Road 140 will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for drainage repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Defiance County maintenance garage.
 
Ohio 49 on the south edge of the village of Hicksville is now open following storm drain installation.
 
Ohio 15 from just south of the city of Defiance to the Putnam County line will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the ODOT Defiance County maintenance garage.
 
U.S. 24 over Krouse Road slope and shoulder repair project is complete.
 
Hancock County
Interstate 75 northbound entrance ramp from Ohio 103, Bluffton, will be closed for the day on Thursday, November 17, generally between the hours of 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., during bridge deck repairs on the interstate. Traffic will be detoured east on Ohio 103 to Ohio 235 back to Interstate 75. Interstate 75 northbound at this same location will be reduced to one lane through the work zone during the repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT District 1 roadway services department.
Ohio 18/Ohio 613 between Baird Road and County Road 75, west of Fostoria, will be closed November 14 for two weeks for a railroad crossing repair. Ohio 18 traffic detoured onto Ohio 12, Bright Road, County Road 212, County Road 99 and Interstate 75 back to Ohio 18. Ohio 613 traffic detoured onto Ohio 12, Bright Road, County Road 212, County Road 99, Interstate 75 back to Ohio 613. Work is being performed by CSX Railroad.
U.S. 30 at U.S. 68 both eastbound and westbound will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repairs. Work will take place between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. and will be performed by the ODOT Hancock County maintenance garage.
Interstate 75 from just south of Ohio 235 north of Bluffton to just south of the County Road 60 overhead near Rawson is reduced to one lane, both northbound and southbound, for a joint repair and resurfacing project. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay.

The following traffic impacts will occur during the week:
·        Minor finish work continues.
·        The work zone is expected to be removed before the beginning of the week.

Interstate 75
between Perrysburg and County Road 99 north of Findlay will have the following restrictions through the fall during reconstruction and widening:
 
·        Through November, overnight lane restrictions, generally from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m., are possible on I-75 between the I-75/I-475 interchange in Perrysburg and County Road 99 in Hancock County. Through December, 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-75 between U.S. 20 in Perrysburg and County Road 99 in Hancock County. 

·        Through December, Township Road 101 in Hancock County, between County Road 220 and Township Road 142, is closed for bridge work over I-75. 
 
Hardin County

Ohio 81 east of Ada will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for installation of drainage tile. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hardin County maintenance garage.
 
Paulding County
 
Ohio 66 north of Oakwood will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.
 
Ohio 111 between County Road 115 and County Road 133 closed Monday, November 7 for five days for culvert replacements at two separate locations. Traffic detoured onto U.S. 127, Ohio 114 and Ohio 637 back to Ohio 111. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.
 
Ohio 66 between Township Road 48 and County Road 60 south of Oakwood will close November 14 for five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic detoured onto Ohio 114, Ohio 637 and Ohio 613 back to Ohio 66. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.
 
Ohio 66 between Township Road 72 and Township Road 82A south of Oakwood will close November 28 for five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic detoured onto Ohio 114, Ohio 637 and Ohio 613 back to Ohio 66. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.
 
Putnam County

Ohio 190 at U.S. 30 north of Delphos is now open following two culvert replacements.
 
Van Wert County
 
Ohio 66 throughout Van Wert County will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the ODOT Van Wert County maintenance garage.
 
Ohio 81 between U.S. 127 and Ohio 118 will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for berm repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Van Wert County maintenance garage.
 
U.S. 30 westbound east of Convoy will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for seeding of the roadside. Work is being performed by the ODOT Van Wert County maintenance garage.

U.S. 127 (Washington Street)
between Fox Road and Ervin Road in the city of Van Wert is now open. Traffic signal work will result in short term lane restrictions over the next few weeks. Work is being performed by Helms & Sons Excavating, Findlay.
 
Wyandot County
 
There are no projects scheduled during the week which will have a significant impact on traffic.
