The following is work scheduled to occur
on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1
which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding,
Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. The schedule of work is dependent upon weather
conditions and, unless otherwise noted, work will take place during daytime

following routes will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for
pavement repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance
Route 117, both eastbound and westbound, from Amherst Road to the Auglaize
Route 696 westbound in the village of Beaverdam, between Flying J and Dollar
Route 81, both eastbound and westbound, at the intersection with state Route
Route 66, both eastbound and westbound, from Spencerville to the state Route
81/state Route 66 intersection
State Route 117 just east of Thayer Road will
close August 5 for approximately seven days for pipeline casing removal.
Traffic detoured to Interstate 75, state Route 65 and state Route 67 back to
state Route 117. Work is being performed by Bolin Inc., Casey, Ill.
State Route 117 in the village of Spencerville
closed July 5 for approximately 60 days for a culvert replacement. Traffic
detoured onto state Route 66, state Route 197 and state Route 198 back to
state Route 117. Work is being performed by VTF Excavation, Celina.
75, and also Bentley Road
and Napoleon Road will be affected during bridge deck replacements on
Napoleon Road over Interstate 75, Beaverdam, and Bentley Road over Interstate
75, Bluffton. Work is being performed by Eagle Bridge, Sidney. The following
are current impacts related to the project:
- Napoleon Road bridge over I-75 closed May 22 and will
remain closed until late fall.
- Traffic detoured onto Sugar Creek Road, Swaney Road
and Lincoln Highway (state Route 696) back to Napoleon Road.
- The northbound exit ramp from Interstate 75 to
Napoleon Road closed May 30 until late fall.
- Traffic detoured north on Interstate 75, east on
Lincoln Highway (state Route 696), south on Swaney Road and west on
Sugar Creek Road back to Napoleon Road; or west onto Lincoln Highway
(state Route 696) back to S. West Street in Beaverdam.
- The entrance ramp to Interstate 75 southbound from
Napoleon Road will remain open
- Motorists traveling northbound on Interstate 75
wishing to access state Route 696 are advised to do so via exit 135
(state Route 696/U.S. 30) at Beaverdam. No access to state Route 696
from Interstate 75 northbound at the Napoleon Road exit will be
Bentley Road (exit 140)
bridges on Bentley Road at exit 140 (one over Interstate 75 and one over the
railroad north of Interstate 75) closed June 5 until late October.
the southbound entrance and exit ramps at Bentley Road also closed on June 5 until

Placement of berm stone will take place at the following locations with
traffic maintained through the work zone. Work is being performed by the ODOT
Defiance County maintenance garage:
State Route 15 from U.S. 24 to the Williams County
State Route 249 from Ney to the Indiana state line
State Route 2 from the Williams County line to
Route 2/state Route 49 within the village of Hicksville closed August 1
for approximately two weeks for excavation of a manhole. Traffic detoured
onto state Route 18, U.S. 127 and U.S. 24 back to state Route 2 and state
Route 49. Work is being performed by Vernon Nagel Construction, Napoleon, for
the village of Hicksville.
Route 18 between township Road 115 and Glenberg Road will
close beginning August 28 for culvert replacements at three locations: two located
west of Sherwood, one east of Sherwood. Work is being performed by Vernon
Nagel Construction, Napoleon. Closures will occur consecutively as follows:
Culvert #1, located between Cicero Road and
Rosedale Road, will close August 28 for 25 days. Traffic detoured onto state
Route 2, state Route 249 and U.S. 127 back to state Route 18.
Culvert #2, located between Openlander Road and
Behnfeldt Road, will close for 25 days following completion of culvert #1.
Traffic detoured onto state Route 2, state Route 249 and U.S. 127 back to
state Route 18.
Culvert #3, located between Flickinger Road and
Glenberg Road, will close for 30 days following completion of culvert #2.
Traffic detoured onto U.S. 24 and U.S. 127 back to state Route 18.
at Baltimore Street, Defiance, is restricted to one lane through the work
zone through early September for repair of the roadside slope. Work is being
performed by Miller Brothers, Archbold. The following closure is related to

Baltimore Street to westbound U.S. 24 closed July 10 for approximately 60 days. Traffic
is detoured onto U.S. 24 eastbound to its interchange with state Route
15/state Route 18 back to U.S. 24 westbound. The ramp will remain closed for
the duration of the project.
between Bowman and Watson roads, south of Defiance, closed June 5 for
approximately three months for a bridge deck replacement. Traffic detoured
onto state Route 613, state Route 634, state Route 15 and Carter Road back to
state Route 66. Work is being performed by Vernon Nagel Inc., Napoleon.
U.S. 127 between state Route 18 and
township Road 34, south of Sherwood, is now open following culvert replacements
at two locations.
75 traffic, both northbound and southbound, just south of state Route 235,
north of Bluffton, will be slowed or temporarily stopped for a brief period
of approximately 20 minutes on August 9 to allow for removal of overhead
lines over the interstate. Traffic is expected to be slowed at approximately
10 a.m. During the operation, traffic will not be permitted to enter
southbound Interstate 75 from state Route 235. Work is being performed by
Hancock Wood Electric.
Route 12 just east of Benton Ridge closed July 17 for approximately
60 days for a bridge deck repair. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 235,
U.S. 224 and Interstate 75 back to state Route 12. Work is being performed by
Global Outdoor Solutions, Cleveland.
Resurfacing of the following routes within the
city of Findlay will restrict traffic to one lane through the work zone. Work
is being performed by M&B Asphalt, Old Fort.
U.S. 224 from Broad Street to Main Street
State Route 12 from Interstate 75 to Main Street
is complete on both U.S. 224 and state Route 12. Pavement striping will
continue to restrict traffic.
State Route 37 from Lincoln Avenue to Blanchard
State Route 568 from Main Street to Beech Avenue
on state Route 37 and state Route 568 will not be completed until August to
allow work by the city of Findlay to take place.
68 from the Findlay airport to Eagle Creek, south of Findlay, will have daily
lane closures in both directions beginning August 12 for installation of
cable barrier in the median. Once work begins, it is expected to be completed
in approximately eight weeks. The project also includes the installation of
overhead lighting and the removal of the caution flasher at Western Avenue. Work
is being performed by Lake Erie Construction, Norwalk.
224 just west
of state Route 235 closed July 24 for approximately 30 days for a culvert
replacement. Traffic is detoured onto U.S. 224, state Route 235, state Route
12 and state Route 65 back to U.S. 224. Work is being performed by BCC Ohio,
68 southbound exit ramp to
U.S. 68 southbound over Eagle Creek at state Route 15, south of Findlay, is
now open following bridge repair.
Tarring and chipping of the roadway will take
place at the following locations with traffic maintained through the work
zone. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hardin County maintenance garage:
State Route 53 between Forest and Patterson
State Route 385 throughout Hardin County
Route 31 between
township Road 265 and state Route 273, north of Mount Victory, will be
restricted to one lane through the work zone beginning August 14 during
bridge repair work. Work is being performed by Crossroads Construction,
will be affected by the project as follows:

state Route 195. Work is being performed by Crossroads Construction,
Route 114 between the Indiana state line and state Route 49
will close August 14 for approximately five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic
detoured onto county Road 1, U.S. 30 and state Route 49 back to state Route
114. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.
Bridge inspection will take place at the following
locations with traffic maintained through the work zone. Inspection will be
performed by ODOT, Columbus, with traffic control provided by the ODOT
Paulding County maintenance garage:
State Route 49 at the Maumee River
State Route 613 at the Little Auglaize River
State Route 111 over the Auglaize River
Route 637 in
the village of Grover Hill closed June 5 for three months for road reconstruction.
Traffic detoured onto U.S. 224, U.S. 127 and state Route 613 back to state
Route 637. Work is being performed by Brenneman Excavating Inc. for the
village of Grover Hill.
Route 114 just east of state Route 49 will be restricted to
one lane through the work zone for drainage tile repair. Work is being
performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.

State Route 190 just north of township Road Q,
north of Fort Jennings, closed July 31 for approximately two weeks for a

to state Route 190. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County
VAN WERT COUNTY
The following routes and locations will be
restricted at times to one lane through the work zone until fall for
resurfacing. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay:
U.S. 33 from the Indiana state line to the Mercer
State Route 118 from the Mercer County line to
State Route 49 from the Mercer County line to the
U.S. 33 overlap
State Route 81 from the Indiana state line to U.S.
U.S. 224 from township Road 77 to the CSX railroad

reduced to one lane through the work zone for berm repair. Work is being

close concurrently for 21 days at some point in September.
§ The ramps on the south side of
the interchange will remain open.
§ All ramps at the interchange
will be resurfaced.

lane through the work zone for tarring and chipping of the roadway. Work is
being performed by the ODOT Wyandot County maintenance garage:
State Route 293 from state Route 53 to Wharton
State route 37 from Marseilles to Forest
Route 53 between
Upper Sandusky and state Route 37, Forest, is restricted to one lane through
the work zone for resurfacing. The project is expected to be completed within
the week. Work is being performed by Kokosing Construction Co., Columbus.
23 and state Route 15 near
their interchange with state Route 103, south of Carey, is reduced to one
lane in each direction for work related to the removal of two bridge
structures over abandoned railroads. Work is being performed by Miller
Brothers Construction Inc., Archbold. The following are traffic impacts
related to the project:
- All traffic has been shifted to the east side of the
road and is reduced to one lane in each direction between county Highway
97 and county Highway 95 for the removal of structures on the U.S. 23
southbound, state Route 15 eastbound lanes. All ramps at state Route 103
will remain open during this phase.
- Within the next two weeks, a change in traffic
pattern will begin which will place both lanes of U.S. 23
southbound/state Route 15 eastbound back to the west side of the
