Improvements to Ohio 309 on Lima’s East Side to be Discussed
LIMA (Friday, January 14, 2011) – The Ohio Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting to discuss a project which will upgrade the safety of the Ohio 309 corridor on the east side of Lima.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 19 at the Bath Township House, 2880 Ada Road, Lima.
The meeting will begin with an open house at 5:30 p.m. during which displays of the project will be available for viewing and transportation officials will be available to address questions. Then at 6:15 p.m. a formal presentation will begin which will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
The meeting is expected to conclude at about 7:15 p.m.
The project, which is currently scheduled for construction in 2013, includes the installation of a raised concrete curb median to control left-turn movements, the addition of U-turns at designated locations, reconfiguring of driveways to eliminate traffic conflict points, the coordination of traffic signals to provide better flow, and the addition of sidewalks.
The limits of the project are from just east of Saratoga Avenue to just east of Devonshire Road near the Allen County Fairgrounds.
All maps, drawings and data presented at the meeting will be available for viewing at the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 office, 1885 N. McCullough Street, Lima. Those wishing to view the materials may contact Kirk Slusher, ODOT District 1 deputy director, at 419-999-6804 to schedule an appointment.
