Highway Construction
Week of May 22, 2017
 
The following is work scheduled to occur on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. The schedule of work is dependent upon weather conditions and, unless otherwise noted, work will take place during daytime hours.

ALLEN COUNTY
 
Interstate 75, state Route 103 will be affected at times for bridge deck replacements on Napoleon Road over Interstate 75, Beaverdam, and state Route 103 (Bentley Road) over Interstate 75, Bluffton. The following are upcoming impacts related to the project:
 
Napoleon Road
·        Napoleon Road bridge over I-75 will close on May 22 for approximately four months.
·        The ramps at the interchange will remain open.
·        Motorists traveling northbound on Interstate 75 wishing to access state Route 696 are advised to do so via exit 135 (state Route 696/U.S. 30) at Beaverdam. No access to state Route 696 from Interstate 75 northbound at the Napoleon Road exit will be available.

Bentley Road (state Route 103)
·        Two bridges on Bentley Road (one over Interstate 75 and one over the railroad north of Interstate 75) will close May 30 for approximately four months.
·        Both the southbound entrance and exit ramps at Bentley Road will be closed, also beginning May 30 for four months.
·        The northbound ramps at the interchange will remain open; however, no left turn onto Bentley Road from northbound Interstate 75 will be permitted.

Interstate 75
·        Interstate 75 both northbound and southbound will be periodically reduced to one lane at times beneath both the Napoleon Road and Bentley Road bridge structures during certain operations related to construction.
·        Lane closures will occur sporadically and are expected to occur mostly during daytime hours but some nighttime closures may occur.
 
 
State Route 115 between U.S. 30 and state Route 65, north of Lima, is now open following culvert replacements.

DEFIANCE COUNTY

U.S. 127 between state Route 18 and township Road 34, south of Sherwood, closed April 24 for 60 days for culvert replacement at two locations. Traffic detoured onto U.S. 24, state Route 15 and state Route 18 back to U.S. 127. The following locations will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Defiance County maintenance garage.
·        U.S. 24 both eastbound and westbound, between Baltimore Street and Flory Road.
·        State Route 18 from the east corporation limit of Defiance to the Henry County line.
·        State Route 281 from Domersville Road to the Henry County line.
 
HANCOCK COUNTY

U.S. 68 southbound exit ramp to U.S. 68 southbound over Eagle Creek at state Route 15, south of Findlay, closed May 15 for approximately two months for bridge repair. Traffic detoured onto state Route 15 eastbound to the state Route 37 interchange to state Route 15 westbound back to U.S. 68. Work is being performed by Global Outdoor Solutions, Cleveland.
 
State Route 12/state Route 235 overlap between state Route 235 and township Road 57, west of Benton Ridge over Moffitt Ditch, closed April 17 for approximately 60 days for repair of a bridge deck. Traffic on state Route 12 detoured onto state Route 235, Interstate 75 northbound back to state Route 12. State Route 235 traffic detoured onto Interstate 75 northbound to state Route 12 back to state Route 235. Work is being performed by Global Outdoor Solutions, Cleveland.
State Route 12 between Western Avenue and Glessner Street, Findlay, closed during daytime hours only from approximately 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day until early June for curb repair and replacement. The work is being administered by the city of Findlay.
 
HARDIN COUNTY
 
State Route 81 at township Road 55, east of Ada, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for drainage tile repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hardin County maintenance garage.
 
 
 
PAULDING COUNTY
 
State Route 114 between Township road 187 and township Road 197, west of Mandale, will close May 22 for approximately three days for a culvert replacement. Traffic detoured onto state Route 637, state Route 613 and state Route 66 back to state Route 114. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.
State Route 114 just east of state Route 66, Mandale, will close May 24 for three days for a culvert replacement. Traffic detoured onto state Route 66, state Route 613 and state Route 634 back to state Route 114. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.
PUTNAM COUNTY
 
State Route 65 between Road T-D and C-5, north of Leipsic, will close May 30 for approximately four days for a culvert replacement. Traffic detoured onto state Route 613, state Route 109 and state Route 18 back to state Route 65. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.
State Route 109 between Road T-A and T-A-7 is now open following culvert replacements.
 
VAN WERT COUNTY
 
U.S. 30 from just east of township Road 127 to just east of county Road 185 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone beginning May 30 for pavement and joint repair and drainage improvements. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
U.S. 224 both eastbound and westbound, east of Van Wert, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for removal of pavement reflectors. Work is being performed by the ODOT Van Wert County maintenance garage.
 
WYANDOT COUNTY
 
State Route 231 between state Route 294 near Wyandot and county Highway 330 north of Nevada will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for resurfacing. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
The following locations will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for berm work. Work is being performed by the ODOT Wyandot County maintenance garage:
 
·        State Route 199 between Upper Sandusky and Carey
·        State Route 568 From Carey to the Hancock County line
·        State Route 103 from Carey to the Hancock County line.
 
U.S. 23 and state Route 15 near their interchange with state Route 103, south of Carey, reduced to one lane in each direction beginning May 8 for work related to the removal of two bridge structures over abandoned railroads. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers Construction Inc., Archbold. The following are upcoming traffic impacts related to the project:
·        The northbound exit ramp from U.S. 23/state Route 15 to U.S. 23 is now open.
·        The work zone will eventually extend from county Highway 97 to county Highway 95. Traffic patterns will change through the zone as the project progresses. This will likely occur in July.
·        The project also includes the resurfacing of U.S. 23 from just north of county Highway 97 to the state Route 103 interchange and of the ramps at state Route 103.

State Route 53 between state Route 103 and county Road 2, McCutchenville, closed April 24 for approximately six months for bridge replacements over Thorn Run and Tymochtee Creek. Traffic detoured onto state Route 103, state Route 231 and U.S. 224 back to state Route 53.
