The following is work scheduled to occur
on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1
which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding,
Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. The schedule of work is dependent upon weather
conditions and, unless otherwise noted, work will take place during daytime

repairs will reduce traffic to one lane through the work zone at the following
locations. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance
Route 309 eastbound near the Hardin County line
Route 81, both eastbound and westbound, from Dutch Hollow Road to the Van
Wert County line.
75, and also Bentley Road
and Napoleon Road will be affected during bridge deck replacements on
Napoleon Road over Interstate 75, Beaverdam, and Bentley Road over Interstate
75, Bluffton. Work is being performed by Eagle Bridge, Sidney. The following
are upcoming impacts related to the project:
- Napoleon Road bridge over I-75 closed May 22 for
approximately four months
- Traffic detoured onto Sugar Creek Road, Swaney Road
and Lincoln Highway (state Route 696) back to Napoleon Road.
- The northbound exit ramp from Interstate 75 to
Napoleon Road closed May 30 for four months.
- Traffic detoured north on Interstate 75, east on
Lincoln Highway (state Route 696), south on Swaney Road and west on
Sugar Creek Road back to Napoleon Road; or west onto Lincoln Highway
(state Route 696) back to S. West Street in Beaverdam.
- The entrance ramp to Interstate 75 southbound from
Napoleon Road will remain open
- Motorists traveling northbound on Interstate 75
wishing to access state Route 696 are advised to do so via exit 135
(state Route 696/U.S. 30) at Beaverdam. No access to state Route 696
from Interstate 75 northbound at the Napoleon Road exit will be
Bentley Road (exit 140)
bridges on Bentley Road at exit 140 (one over Interstate 75 and one over the
railroad north of Interstate 75) closed June 5 for approximately
the southbound entrance and exit ramps at Bentley Road also closed on June 5
for four months.
75 northbound traffic will be detoured to the state Route 103 (exit 142)
interchange back to Bentley Road.
75 southbound traffic is advised to access Bentley Road via the state Route
103 interchange (exit 142) and follow state Route 103 through Bluffton back
to Bentley Road.
northbound ramps at the interchange remain open; however, left turns onto
Bentley Road from northbound Interstate 75 are not permitted.
75 both northbound and southbound will be periodically reduced to one lane at
times beneath both the Napoleon Road and Bentley Road bridge structures
during certain operations related to construction.
closures will occur sporadically and are expected to occur mostly during
daytime hours but some nighttime closures may occur.
U.S. 24 westbound at Baltimore Street,
Defiance, is restricted to one lane through the work zone through early
September for repair of the roadside slope. Work is being performed by Miller
Brothers, Archbold. The following upcoming closure is related to the project:
entrance ramp from Baltimore Street to westbound U.S. 24 will be closed for
the day on Monday, July 10 to allow for pavement markings and barrier wall to
be placed for maintenance of traffic through the work zone. Traffic will be
detoured to county Road 424 (old U.S 24) to U.S. 127 back to U.S. 24.
between Bowman and Watson roads, south of Defiance, closed June 5 for
approximately three months for a bridge deck replacement. Traffic detoured
onto state Route 613, state Route 634, state Route 15 and Carter Road back to
state Route 66. Work is being performed by Vernon Nagel Inc., Napoleon.
State Route 613/state Route 18 between Van Buren
and Fostoria will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for removal of
pavement reflectors in preparation for tarring and chipping of the highway. Work
is being performed by the ODOT Hancock County maintenance garage.
Resurfacing of the following routes within the
city of Findlay will restrict traffic to one lane through the work zone. Work
is being performed by M&B Asphalt, Old Fort.
U.S. 224 from Broad Street to Main Street
State Route 12 from Interstate 75 to Main Street
(section between Western Avenue and Glessner Street is now open; project
administered by the city of Findlay).
State Route 37 from Lincoln Avenue to Blanchard
State Route 568 from Main Street to Beech Avenue
68 from the Findlay airport to Eagle Creek, south of Findlay, will have daily
lane closures in both directions beginning early August for installation of
cable barrier in the median. Once work begins it is expected to be completed
in approximately eight weeks. Work is being performed by Lake Erie
224 just west
of state Route 235, west of Findlay, is scheduled to close July 17 for
approximately 30 days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured
onto U.S. 224, state Route 235, state Route 12 and state Route 65 back to
U.S. 224. Work is being performed by BCC Ohio, New London.
68 southbound exit ramp to
U.S. 68 southbound over Eagle Creek at state Route 15, south of Findlay, closed
May 15 for approximately two months for bridge repair. Traffic detoured onto
state Route 15 eastbound to the state Route 37 interchange to state Route 15
westbound back to U.S. 68. Work is being performed by Global Outdoor
Route 12/state Route 235

Route 31 closure between township Road 265 and state Route 273 has
been delayed until late summer. Work will begin once a project on state Route
195 south of McGuffey has been completed.

Cottonwood Road, closed June 5 for 60 days for bridge repair. Traffic
detoured onto county Road 110, state Route 235 and state Route 309 back to
state Route 195 Work is being performed by Crossroads Construction,
Route 81 at
township Road 55, east of Ada, will be restricted to one lane through the
work zone for drainage tile repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT
Hardin County maintenance garage.
Route 637 in
the village of Grover Hill closed June 5 for three months for road
reconstruction. Traffic detoured onto U.S. 224, U.S. 127 and state Route 613
back to state Route 637. Work is being performed by Brenneman Excavating Inc.
for the village of Grover Hill.
State Route 66 from U.S. 224 in Putnam County to
the Defiance County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone
for the tarring and chipping of the roadway. Work is being performed by the
ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.

VAN WERT COUNTY
30 from just
east of township Road 127 to just east of county Road 185 restricted to one
lane through the work zone for pavement and joint repair and drainage
improvements. Resurfacing of the pavement will follow the repair work. Work
is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.
The following locations will be reduced to one
lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by
the ODOT Wyandot County maintenance garage:
State Route 231 from just north of county Highway 330
to state Route 103
State Route 293 from state Route 53 to Wharton
Route 53 between
Upper Sandusky and state Route 37, Forest, is restricted to one lane through
the work zone for resurfacing. Work is being performed by Kokosing
Construction Co., Columbus.
23 and state Route 15 near
their interchange with state Route 103, south of Carey, reduced to one lane
in each direction for work related to the removal of two bridge structures
over abandoned railroads. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers
Construction Inc., Archbold. The following are traffic impacts related to the
