ODOT Seeks Public Comment On Proposed Projects

LIMA (July 29, 2013) The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), is seeking public comments regarding the following proposed projects:
 
District Wide

BM-FY 14 (PID: 87853) – The proposed project is sponsored by ODOT and located throughout District 1. This project proposes to include miscellaneous bridge maintenance activities, such as patching and sealing concrete surfaces on various structures in the district.  Replacement of the rock under the structure will also be done on the Ohio 67 bridge in Wyandot County over the Tymochtee Creek just northwest of the intersection with Ohio 37. Traffic during this project will be maintained to one lane. The construction of this project is currently scheduled to begin in Summer of 2014. 
 
Allen County
 
ODOT District 1 Headquarters Redesign (PID: 92233) – The proposed project is sponsored by ODOT and located at 1885 North McCullough Street in Lima, Ohio.  It includes the renovation of the existing district headquarters office and garage as part of a consolidation of work units.  It also proposes to construct two new buildings to replace aging facilities to house trucks and equipment from the district garage and the ODOT Allen County garage. Construction for the project will occur off the roadway and traffic will not be altered.  The construction of this project is currently scheduled to begin fall to winter of 2013.
 
Lima Bikepath Phase V (PID: 92337) – The proposed project is sponsored by the City of Lima and located from the Central Point Buttonbush Wetland Preserve to the existing Ottawa River Bikeway and from Faurot Park to Robb Park.  The project is proposed to construct a 10-foot bike path through parts of the project area and, also, to utilize low traffic streets labeled with bikeway signs in other parts of the project area. Traffic during this project will be maintained to a minimum of one lane during construction, which is slated to begin in summer of 2014.
 
Waste Water Treatment Plant Drive (PID: 85500) – The proposed project is sponsored by the City of Lima and located at the wastewater treatment plant drive over the Ottawa River.  This project is proposed to rehabilitate the piers, guardrail, and bridge surfaces over the Ottawa River.  Traffic during this project will be detoured.  The construction of this project is currently scheduled to begin summer of 2014.
 
Hancock County
 
Safe Routes To School - Van Buren (PID: 88351) – The proposed project is funded with federal funds from the Safe Routes to School Program.  The Village of Van Buren and the Van Buren Local School District have proposed to enhance areas near the Van Buren Local Schools. This includes new sidewalks in the village square, enhanced crosswalks and signage. Traffic during this project will be maintained at all times.  The construction of this project is currently scheduled for the summer of 2015.  
Hardin County
 
Ada Klingler Road (PID: 93783) – The proposed project is sponsored by the Village of Ada and located on Klingler Road in Ada. It runs from West Lima Avenue northward to approximately 100 feet north of Lincoln Avenue.  The project is proposed to reconstruct and widen the road into a two-lane section with curb and gutter on both sides. Traffic during this project will be detoured; however local traffic will be maintained. Construction of this project is currently scheduled to begin in spring of 2015. 
 
Paulding County
 
Safe Routes To School - Antwerp Phase II (PID: 93589) – The proposed project is funded with federal funds from the Safe Routes to School Program. The Village of Antwerp and the Antwerp Local School District have proposed to add new sidewalk along the west side of Harrmann Road from the Antwerp School to Canal Road and along the north side of Canal Road from Harrmann Road westerly to Kroos Drive. Traffic during this project will be maintained at all times.  The construction of this project is currently scheduled for the fall of 2015.
 
ODOT Paulding County Garage (95968) – The proposed project is sponsored by ODOT and includes acquiring land for a new full-service facility at the existing Paulding County garage site to replace the existing out-of-date facility.  An adjacent property was put up for sale by the current owner and ODOT is pursuing purchasing it. Once purchased the structure will be removed to prepare for a new facility. Property purchase is scheduled for summer 2013; however, a schedule for structure removal and construction of a new facility has not been determined.
 
Putnam County
 
OLD SR 12-16.4 (PID 87353) – The proposed project is sponsored by the Putnam County Engineer and is located on Old State Route 12 over the Ottawa River.  The project is proposed to replace the existing bridge with a three-span, pre-stressed concrete beam bridge.  Traffic during this project will be detoured. The construction of this project is currently scheduled for May-September of 2015. 
 
Van Wert County
 
VAN-Van Wert-West Main St. Phase II (PID: 93782) – The proposed project is sponsored by the City of Van Wert and located on W. Main Street in Van Wert and runs from Fisher Street to John Brown Road. The project is proposed to reconstruct and widen W. Main Street and include curbing, curb ramps, sidewalks, new storm sewer piping and manholes.  An eight-inch water main and fire hydrants are also a part of the proposed project. Traffic during this project will be detoured; however, local traffic will be maintained to ensure access to homes, businesses and other properties.  Construction of this project is currently scheduled to begin in May of 2015.
 
Wyandot County
 
State Route 53-21.85/24.16 (PID: 84582) – The proposed bridge replacement project is sponsored by ODOT and located on Ohio 53 south of McCutchenville. The project is proposed to replace the bridge over the Tymochtee Creek and bridge over Thorn Run. Traffic during this project will be detoured. The construction of this project is currently scheduled from May to October of 2015.
