ODOT to hold public meeting regarding proposed project
Project will improve Ohio 117 intersection with Ohio 501 and Wapak Road
LIMA (Thursday, April 24, 2014) The Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 will conduct a public meeting regarding the department’s proposed project to reconstruct the intersection of Ohio 117 with Ohio 501 and Wapak Road.
The meeting will be held Thursday, May 1 in the public meeting room of the Shawnee Township Administration Building, 2530 Ft. Amanda Road, Lima, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. A formal presentation will begin at 6 p.m.
Exhibits of the project will be available for viewing both before and following the meeting. Representatives from ODOT will be available throughout the evening to address questions.
The proposed project will reconstruct the intersection to eliminate the awkward angles which limit motorists’ ability to see approaching traffic. The project also includes the addition of turn lanes along Ohio 117 to facilitate left-turn movements onto Ohio 501 and Wapak Road. 
The department’s recommended preferred alternative as well as an additional alternative will be presented at the meeting.
