ODOT Seeking Public Comment on Projects
 
LIMA (February 16, 2017)The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 1, in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Executive Order 11988, is seeking public comments regarding the following proposed projects:
 
Allen County
Concrete Pavement and Ramp Repairs (PID: 98552) – This project proposes to make repairs to concrete pavement sections and ramps at the state Route 696 and U.S. Route 30 interchange approximately 0.5 miles east of the village of Beaverdam.

Temporary ramp closures will occur at the interchange during construction and traffic will be detoured.  Construction for this project is scheduled to occur in the summer of 2018.
 
Defiance County
State Route 281-1.35 (PID: 102805) – ODOT is proposing a project to repair slopes along state Route 281 (Domersville Road) north of the bridge over the Maumee River on the east side of the city of Defiance. A portion of this project is located within the regulated floodplain of the Maumee River. Impacts to the floodplain are anticipated to be minor and result in no rise in localized flood levels. A statement of findings detailing the results of the final floodplain analysis will be made available on the ODOT District 1 Environmental Website at:

Construction of this project will require a lane closure and traffic control is to be coordinated with the city of Defiance. Construction for this project is scheduled to occur in the summer of 2018.
 
Hancock County
U.S. Route 224-24.46 (PID: 101191) – This project proposes to make repairs to the U.S. Route 224 bridge over the East Branch Portage River. The bridge is located approximately 6.25 miles east of the city of Findlay and 1.5 miles west of the Seneca County line.

Traffic on U.S. Route 224 will be detoured during construction; however, access to all properties within the construction limits will be maintained. Construction is scheduled to occur in the summer of 2018.
Hardin County
State Route 701-0.10/1.37 (PID: 103589) – This project proposes to replace two structures carrying state Route 701 over small waterways 0.10 miles and 1.37 miles east of the state Route 309 intersection.

Traffic on state Route 701 will be detoured during construction; however, access to properties within the construction limits will be maintained.  Construction for this project is scheduled to occur in the summer of 2019.
 
Paulding County
State Route 114-19.64/19.88/21.73/22.50 (PID: 100746)
– This project proposes to replace two bridge structures, replace one culvert, and rehabilitate another bridge along state Route 114 between the village of Grover Hill and the state Route 66 intersection. A description of the work proposed at each structure is below:
·        PAU-SR 114-19.64:  Replace existing bridge over Middle Creek.
·        PAU-SR 114-19.88:  Replace existing culvert carrying an unnamed waterway with a new box culvert.
·        PAU-SR 114-21.73:  Replace existing bridge over Dog Creek.
·        PAU-SR 114-22.50:  Rehabilitate existing bridge over the Little Auglaize River.

A portion of this project is located within the regulated floodplains of Middle Creek, Dog Creek, and the Little Auglaize River. Impacts to these floodplains are anticipated to be minor and result in no rise in localized flood levels.  A statement of findings detailing the results of the final floodplain analysis will be made available on the ODOT District 1 Environmental Website at:

Please provide comments within 15 days from the day this was published.  To help expedite a response, please provide the project name and PID number provided above as well as contact information.  Comments without contact information cannot be responded to.
 
Project-related issues the public may wish to comment on include, but are not limited to, historic or cultural resources, ecological resources, and environmental justice issues.
 
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for these projects are being, or have been, carried-out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
