ODOT Seeking Public Comment on Projects
LIMA (December 21, 2016) – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 1, in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Executive Order 11988, is seeking public comments regarding the following proposed projects:
Ohio 66-Culverts (PID: 102197) – This project proposes to replace eight culverts located along Ohio 66 beginning near the Auglaize County line and extending northward to the southern corporate limits of the village of Spencerville. The culverts outlet into the historic Miami & Erie Canal along the west side of Ohio 66. Guardrail and storm drainage along that section of road will also be upgraded and improved as part of this project.
Traffic on Ohio 66 will be detoured during construction; however, access to properties within the construction limits will be maintained. Construction for this project is scheduled to occur in the summer of 2019.
Ohio 15 (Clinton Street Bridge) (PID: 96605) – The proposed project to replace the Clinton Street bridge in downtown Defiance is located within the regulated floodplain of the Maumee River. Impacts to the floodplain are anticipated to be minor and result in no rise in localized flood levels. Construction for this project is scheduled to occur in 2019.
Ohio 117-5.97 (PID: 103586) – This project proposes to replace a culvert carrying a small stream under Ohio 117 near the southwestern corner of Hardin County. The culvert is located under Ohio 117 approximately 0.08 miles southeast of the Ohio 235 intersection.
Traffic on Ohio 117 will be detoured during construction; however, access to properties within the construction limits will be maintained. Construction for this project is scheduled to occur in the fall of 2017.

Project-related issues the public may wish to comment on include, but are not limited to, historic or cultural resources, ecological resources, and environmental justice issues.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for these projects are being, or have been, carried-out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
