ODOT to Auction Former Dealership

LIMA – The Ohio Department of Transportation will sell at auction the former Stykemain Pontiac-Buick-GMC dealership located at 20891 County Road 424 (formerly U.S. 24), Defiance.

The auction will be held on Thursday, November 19 at 1 p.m. inside the commercial building. Doors will open at noon. An open house at the property will be held Tuesday, November 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The property was acquired by ODOT through the right of way acquisition process for the expansion of U.S. 24.

The site is zoned B-3 Industrial and includes a 25,190 square-foot commercial building situated on 29.796 acres. Also included is a 2,041 square-foot private residence along the Maumee River. ODOT and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) recently entered into a Conservation Easement Agreement which protects 9.929 acres of property along the Maumee River and will run with the 29.796 acre site.

The property is located next to the new interchange between U.S. 24 and Baltimore Street and also the Mark Moats Ford dealership. The property will be sold as-is as one unit and is subject to all easements of record. By law, the property must sell for not less than two-thirds of the appraised value of $600,000. A security deposit of $12,000 is required the day of the sale from the successful bidder.
