 The following is the weekly report concerning construction and maintenance work on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. This report is issued each week beginning in April and continues through November.

Construction and Maintenance Projects

Week of August 25, 2014

Allen County

Interstate 75 Reconstruction Project For the most recent information concerning the Interstate 75 reconstruction project through Lima and Allen County please visit www.odotlima75.org

Ohio 81 east of Roush Road will be restricted through the work zone for drainage repairs. Work is being performed by the Allen County ODOT maintenance garage.

Ohio 65 between U.S. 30 and the north edge of the village of Cairo is open after pavement repairs. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay.

Ohio 81 from Stewart Road to the Hardin County line is restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repairs prior to a pavement resurfacing. Work will occur Saturday, August 23, and then work will be suspended the week of August 25. The work on the project will resume following the Labor Day holiday. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay.

U.S. 30/Ohio 309 near Delphos may be restricted to one lane at times through the work zone for culvert work. Work is expected to be completed in the fall. Work is being performed by Platinum Painting, Boardman.

Defiance County

U.S. 127 in the village of Sherwood closed August 17 for approximately 10 days for a railroad

crossing repair. Traffic will be detoured to U.S. 24, Ohio 15, Ohio 81 and back to U.S. 127. Work is being performed by CSX Railroad.

U.S. 24 entrance and exit ramps throughout Defiance County will be restricted for shoulder work. Work is being performed by the Defiance County ODOT maintenance garage.

Ohio 18 in the city of Defiance just east of the Ohio 15 (Ottawa Avenue) and Ohio 18 (East Second Street) intersection closed June 9 for two months for culvert replacement. The project has been completed as of August 19 and is open to traffic.

Hancock County

U.S. 224 interchange at Interstate 75 reconstruction, Findlay

The U.S. 224 interchange with Interstate 75, Findlay, is currently being reconstructed. The project began in February and is expected to be completed late this fall. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers Construction, Archbold.

The following traffic impacts related to the reconstruction are in effect or will occur in the upcoming weeks:

Interstate 75

-All ramps at the interchange are now open and will remain open for the duration of the project.

-Both the northbound and southbound lanes are currently narrowed and shifted approaching the U.S. 224 interchange.

- Lane restrictions will continue both northbound and southbound for overhead work at the bridge. Restrictions will occur between 9 p.m. and 10 a.m.

U.S. 224

-Short-term, daytime lane closures should be expected throughout the week. Traffic maintained at times with flaggers.

-Motorists are cautioned to watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting at various locations throughout the work zone on U.S. 224 and along the interchange ramps.

Ohio 37 between Ohio 15 and the village of Mount Blanchard will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repairs. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers. Work is being

performed by the Hancock County ODOT maintenance garage.

Ohio 103 at the west edge of the village of Arlington closed August 18 for approximately five days for a waterline replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 235, U.S. 30 and U.S. 68 back to Ohio 103. Work is being performed by JDR Excavating, Inc., Findlay.

Ohio 330 in Vanlue is open after the completion of the culvert replacement.

Interstate 75 between Ohio 235 and the city of Findlay will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is taking place in the northbound direction, beginning at Ohio 235 and continuing north. Traffic restrictions will be in place during weekdays and will be removed on the weekends. Work is being performed by Becdir Construction, Berlin Center.

Ohio 568 between Blanchard Avenue in Findlay to County Road 180 is currently not restricted for pavement repair and resurfacing. The project is temporarily suspended to allow adjoining work by the city of Findlay to take place. The project will resume in September. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay.

Hardin County

Ohio 53 between Kenton and County Road 90 will be restricted through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the Hardin County ODOT maintenance garage.

Ohio 31 in the city of Kenton will be restricted through the work zone August 25 for approximately three days for repairs on the Scioto River bridge. One lane will remain open in each direction throughout the repairs, which will take place between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Work is being performed by the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 Bridge Department.

Ohio 53 between Jackson Township Road 60 and Jackson Township Road 50 is open after the completion of crossover replacements.

Ohio 53 between Pleasant Township Road 80 and Pleasant Township Road 74 is open after the completion of crossover replacements.

Ohio 31 in the village of Mt. Victory is open after the completion of water main improvements.

Ohio 31 from the Union County line to Ohio 292 is restricted to one lane through the work zone during pavement resurfacing. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay.

Paulding County

Ohio 114 between Pease Road and Ohio 66 will be restricted through the work zone for tile repairs. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage.

Putnam County

Ohio 109 between Ottawa and Ohio 613 will be restricted through the work zone for pavement repairs. Work is being performed by the Putnam County ODOT maintenance garage.

Ohio 108 between Ohio 15 and Ohio 613 will be restricted through the work zone for pavement repairs. Work is being performed by the Putnam County ODOT maintenance garage.

U.S. 224 between Ottoville and Kalida will be restricted through the work zone for pavement repairs. Work is being performed by the Putnam County ODOT maintenance garage.

Ohio 634 in the village of Continental is open following a waterline repair.

Van Wert County

U.S. 127 south of Van Wert will be restricted through the work zone for shoulder work. Work is being performed by the Van Wert County ODOT maintenance garage.

Wyandot County

U.S. 23 between Carey and Upper Sandusky will be restricted through the work zone for pavement repairs. Work is being performed by the Wyandot County ODOT maintenance garage.

Ohio 67 in the city of Upper Sandusky closed on August 21 for approximately two days for a waterline repair. Traffic will be detoured on to Ohio 294, U.S. 23, Ohio 199, then back to Ohio 67. Work is being performed by Park Enterprise Construction, Marion.

Ohio 53 from south of Township Highway 42 to south of County Highway 4 is open after being restricted for pavement repairs.

Ohio 53 within the city of Upper Sandusky, just west of Ohio 67, is currently unrestricted. The project has been delayed. The project will resume at a later date. Work is being performed by Park Enterprise Construction, Marion.

Ohio 53/67 (8th Street/Marseilles Avenue) in the city of Upper Sandusky from High Street to Wyandot Avenue will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for water line installation and pavement repair. The project is expected to continue until mid-October. Work is being performed by Park Enterprises, Marion.
