The following is the weekly report concerning construction and maintenance work on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. This report is issued each week beginning in April and continues through November.

Allen County

Interstate 75 Reconstruction Project For the most recent information concerning the Interstate 75 reconstruction project through Lima and Allen County please visit www.odotlima75.org

U.S. 30/Ohio 309
near Delphos may be restricted to one lane at times through the work zone for culvert work. Work is expected to be completed late in the month. Work is being performed by Platinum Painting, Boardman.

Defiance County

 

Ohio 2 from just north of Hicksville to Buckskin Road will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the Defiance County ODOT maintenance garage.

Hancock County

 

U.S. 224 interchange at Interstate 75 reconstruction, Findlay

 

The U.S. 224 interchange with Interstate 75, Findlay, is currently being reconstructed. The project began in February and is expected to be completed late this fall. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers Construction, Archbold.

 

The following traffic impacts related to the reconstruction will occur in the upcoming week:

 

Interstate 75

 

-Both the northbound and southbound lanes are narrowed and shifted approaching the U.S. 224 interchange. Lane restrictions are occurring on occasion in the southbound direction between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. mostly during the week but on some weekends as well.

 

-Placement of the beams for the new bridge structure on U.S. 224 over Interstate 75 is expected to take place in early June. Traffic on Interstate 75 will be temporarily stopped for short intervals during the operation.

 

U.S. 224

 

-Traffic on the bridge over Interstate 75, Findlay, is traveling on the north half of the bridge, one lane in each direction with no turn lanes. All ramps at the interchange are currently open.

 

-Beginning on Monday and continuing through Thursday of the week, U.S. 224 will be restricted to one lane between County Road 223 and County Road 300 (Northridge Rd/WalMart). Traffic will be maintained with flaggers. The restriction will be in place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day. The restriction is to allow preliminary work to begin for concrete curb and gutter construction which is expected to begin in the next two weeks.

 

-Motorists are cautioned to watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting at various locations throughout the work zone on U.S. 224 and along the interchange ramps.

U.S. 224 on the east side of Findlay between Plaza Road (Best Buy) and County Road 236 is occasionally restricted to one lane through the work zone during a traffic signal upgrade project. The new and upgraded signals are now in operation. Curb ramps and pavement striping will follow within the new few weeks. Work is being performed by Perram Electric, Wadsworth.

 

Ohio 235 from County Road 304 (old U.S. 30) approximately three miles north of Ada to County Road 313 (old 25) just north of Interstate 75 is now open. Work will continue on the project under traffic. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.

 

Ohio 568 between Blanchard Avenue in Findlay to County Road 180 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair and resurfacing. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay.

 
Ohio 330 from Ohio 15 to Vanlue High School will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair and resurfacing. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay.

 ​

Ohio 15 between U.S. 23 in Carey to Ohio 37 in Findlay is restricted to one lane through the work zone for resurfacing. Work is now only taking place during daytime hours and is occurring in both the eastbound and westbound direction. Work is being performed by Kokosing, Fredericksburg.

Hardin County

 

Ohio 235 between Ohio 67 and Alger will be restricted to one lane through the work zone two days during the week for roadside work. Work is being performed by the Hardin County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

U.S. 68 from the Kenton corporation limit to the Logan County line will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for pavement resurfacing. The project is expected to continue through June. Work is being performed by the Shelly Co., Findlay.

 

Ohio 31 from the Kenton corporation limit to Mt. Victory will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the Hardin County ODOT maintenance garage.

Ohio 309 bridge repair just west of Kenton is complete.

                                                                                                                                      

Paulding County

 

Ohio 613 east of 127 will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for drainage maintenance. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Ohio 613 at County Road 151 may be restricted to one lane at times during drainage tile repair. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Ohio 637 north of Grover Hill will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for drainage maintenance. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Ohio 637 south of Ohio 613 will be one lane through the work zone during pavement patching. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Ohio 500 west of Paulding will be one lane through the work zone during pavement patching. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage

 

Ohio 500 just west of Hazelet Road will be closed for most of the week of May 20 for drainage work. Traffic detoured onto Ohio 613, U.S. 127 and Ohio 111 back to Ohio 500. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Ohio 500 west of Payne will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

U.S. 127 south of Paulding will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage.

Putnam County

 

Ohio 634 between Ft. Jennings and Continental will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for pavement resurfacing. The project will continue through June. Work is being performed by Gerken Paving, Napoleon.

 

Ohio 115 one mile south of Vaughnsville will be closed for the week of May 27 for culvert replacement. Traffic detoured onto Ohio 65 and Ohio 12 back to Ohio 115. Work is being performed by the Putnam County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Pavement repair will take place at the following locations during the week with traffic maintained through the work zone. Work is being performed by the Putnam County ODOT maintenance garage:

 

-Ohio 190 between Fort Jennings and U.S. 224

-U.S. 224 between the Van Wert County line and Kalida

-Ohio 613 between Ohio 108 and Ohio 109

 

Van Wert County

There are no projects scheduled during the week which will have a significant impact on traffic.

 

Wyandot County

There are no projects scheduled during the week which will have a significant impact on traffic.
