The following is the weekly report concerning construction and maintenance work on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. This report is issued each week beginning in April and continues through November.

Construction and Maintenance Projects

Allen County

Interstate 75 Reconstruction Project For the most recent information concerning the Interstate 75 reconstruction project through Lima and Allen County please visit www.odotlima75.org

U.S. 30/Ohio 309
near Delphos may be restricted to one lane at times through the work zone for culvert work. Work is expected to be completed late in the month. Work is being performed by Platinum Painting, Boardman.

Defiance County

Ohio 2 from just north of Hicksville to just west of Farmer will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the Defiance County ODOT maintenance garage.

Ohio 249 at two locations, between Openlander Road and Behnfeldt Road and between the Indiana line and Casebeer-Miller Road, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the Defiance County ODOT maintenance garage.

 Hancock County

 

U.S. 224 interchange at Interstate 75 reconstruction, Findlay

 

The U.S. 224 interchange with Interstate 75, Findlay, is currently being reconstructed. The project began in February and is expected to be completed late this fall. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers Construction, Archbold.

 

The following traffic impacts related to the reconstruction are in effect or will occur in the upcoming weeks:

 

Interstate 75

 

- Both the northbound and southbound lanes are narrowed and shifted approaching the U.S. 224 interchange.

 

-Lane restrictions on Interstate 75 will occur during nighttime hours one day of the week, likely Tuesday, for pavement repair.

-On June 2 and 3, short-term stops of traffic on Interstate 75 in both directions will occur while setting of bridge beams on the U.S. 224 structure occurs. The stops will occur generally between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. Both northbound and southbound traffic will be affected on the first night. Only northbound traffic will be affected the second night. Law enforcement will slow and stop traffic approaching the interchange and release traffic once each beam has been set. Traffic will be stopped for up to 20 minutes. Following the beam setting lane restrictions will continue for the rest of that week both northbound and southbound for overhead work at the bridge. Restrictions will occur between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m.

 

U.S. 224

 

-Traffic on the bridge over Interstate 75, Findlay, is traveling on the north half of the bridge, one lane in each direction with no turn lanes. All ramps at the interchange are currently open.

 

-Motorists are cautioned to watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting at various locations throughout the work zone on U.S. 224 and along the interchange ramps.

Interstate 75 northbound just north of Ohio 613 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone on Tuesday of the week for bridge rail repair. The restriction will be in place from 7:30-11 a.m. Work is being performed by the ODOT bridge department with traffic control by the Hancock County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Ohio 15 westbound between Western Avenue in Findlay and Ohio 37 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the Hancock County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

U.S. 224 on the east side of Findlay between Plaza Road (Best Buy) and County Road 236 is occasionally restricted to one lane through the work zone during a traffic signal upgrade project. The new and upgraded signals are now in operation. Work on constructing curb ramps and pavement striping is expected to begin during the week. Work is being performed by Perram Electric, Wadsworth.

 

Ohio 235 pavement repair and resurfacing from County Road 304 (old U.S. 30) approximately three miles north of Ada to County Road 313 (old 25) just north of Interstate 75 is now complete.

 

Ohio 568 between Blanchard Avenue in Findlay to County Road 180 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair and resurfacing. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay.

 

Ohio 330 from Ohio 15 to Vanlue High School will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair and resurfacing. Paving work has been completed with pavement striping to occur during the week, weather permitting. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay.

 

Ohio 15 between U.S. 23 in Carey to Ohio 37 in Findlay is restricted to one lane through the work zone for resurfacing. Work is occurring in both the eastbound and westbound direction and will occur during both daytime and nighttime hours during the week. Work is being performed by Kokosing, Fredericksburg.


Hardin County

 

Ohio 309 from Kenton to Marion will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the Hardin County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

U.S. 68 from the Kenton corporation limit to the Logan County line will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for pavement resurfacing. The project is expected to continue through June. Work is being performed by the Shelly Co., Findlay.

 

Ohio 31 from Mt. Victory to the Union County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for drainage work. Work is being performed by the Hardin County ODOT maintenance garage.

Ohio 235 from Township Road 150 to County Road 130 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for roadside work. Work is being performed by the Hardin County ODOT maintenance garage.

                                                                                                                                       

Paulding County

 

Ohio 114 east of Ohio 637 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

U.S. 127 south of Paulding will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Putnam County

 

Ohio 109 between Ottawa and the Henry County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the Putnam County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Ohio 634 between Ft. Jennings and Continental will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for pavement resurfacing. The project will continue through June. Work is being performed by Gerken Paving, Napoleon.

 

Ohio 115 one mile south of Vaughnsville will be closed for the week of May 27 for culvert replacement. Traffic detoured onto Ohio 65 and Ohio 12 back to Ohio 115. Work is being performed by the Putnam County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Van Wert County

 

Ohio 118 between Van Wert and Ohio City will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the Van Wert County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Wyandot County

There are no projects scheduled during the week which will have a significant impact on traffic.
