Highway Construction
Week of June 25, 2018

The following is work scheduled to occur on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1, which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. The schedule of work is dependent upon weather conditions, and unless otherwise noted, work will take place during daytime hours.

ALLEN COUNTY
 
Interstate 75 between Bentley Road and state Route 103 will be restricted to one lane at times for a bridge repair project. Work will occur on I-75 over Riley Creek in Allen County and on the county Road 15 bridge over Interstate 75 in Hancock County. The project is expected to be completed in late September. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers Construction, Archbold.
 
The project will have the following anticipated impacts to traffic:
  • Interstate 75 in both directions is restricted at times to one lane in each direction through the work zone. A maximum width restriction of 13 feet is in place during the lane restriction.
  • Variable speed limits are in place through the work zone. Electronic messages boards display the posted, legal speed limit, which will be reduced during construction operations and presence of workers in the area. The posted speed limit on the electronic boards is enforceable by law.
 
Interstate 75 over Little Riley Creek, just north of Beaverdam, will be restricted to one lane at times for a bridge repair project. Shoulder restrictions are also possible during the project. A maximum width restriction of 12 feet is in place during the lane restrictions. Work will begin July 9 and last for approximately one month. Work is being performed by Complete General Construction, Columbus.
 
The following Interstate 75 ramps will be affected by pavement repair:
·        Interstate 75 northbound exit ramp to state Route 696, Beaverdam, will remain open but will be restricted during pavement repair beginning late in the week of June 25. Work is expected to be completed within a week. Work is being performed by Shelly & Sands, Zanesville.
·        Interstate 75 southbound entrance ramp from state Route 696, Beaverdam, has been rescheduled to close Friday, June 29, at 9 p.m. until Monday, July 2, at 6 a.m. Traffic detoured onto Interstate 75 northbound to Bentley Road back to Interstate 75 southbound. Work is being performed by Shelly & Sands, Zanesville. (see map)
·        Interstate 75 southbound entrance ramp from Bluelick Road, Lima, will close June 25 for approximately seven days for a joint repair project. Traffic will be detoured onto Interstate 75 northbound to Napoleon Road back to Interstate 75 southbound. Work is being performed by Complete General Construction, Columbus. (see map)
·        Interstate 75 southbound exit ramp to Bluelick Road, Lima, will close July 2 for one day for a bridge inspection. Traffic will be detoured onto Interstate 75 southbound, state Route 81 and Interstate 75 northbound back to Bluelick Road. Work is being performed by the ODOT roadway services department.
 
Interstate 75 northbound between state Route 81 and Napoleon Road will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage.
 
State Route 696, between U.S. 30 and the village of Beaverdam, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone during pavement resurfacing which will begin late in the week of June 25. Work is being performed by Shelly & Sands, Zanesville.
 
State Route 65 between Grand Avenue and state Route 115, Lima, is reduced to one lane through the work zone at various locations for work related to a roadway rehabilitation project that will last through the summer. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
The following impacts to traffic are occurring:
  • Traffic has been switched on state Route 65 between Northern Avenue and Jacobs Avenue, just north of Casa Lu Al Restaurant, to the southbound side of the roadway while widening work on the northbound side of the road takes place.
    • One lane of traffic is maintained in both directions. The turn lane is not available.
    • Traffic delays can be expected during the project.
 
State Route 81 from Wapak Road to Eastown Road, Lima, is no longer restricted as curb ramp work is mostly complete. Resurfacing of the route will occur in the coming weeks. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
DEFIANCE COUNTY
 
U.S 24 both eastbound and westbound, between the Maumee River bridge and the Henry County line, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Defiance County maintenance garage.
 
U.S. 24 between state Route 15/state Route 18 and Baltimore Road in city of Defiance will be reduced to one lane through the work zones for bridge repairs. Work is being performed by Uretek, Tomball, Texas.
 
The project will also have the following impact to traffic.
·        U.S. 24 eastbound entrance ramp at Baltimore Street is now open following repairs as part of this project.
 
State Route 2 between Hicksville and the Williams County line, except its overlap with state Route 249, will be reduced to one lane through the work zones for pavement resurfacing. Work is expected to continue through late June. Work is being performed by Gerken Paving, Inc., Napoleon.
 
State Route 15 between the city of Defiance and the Putnam County line will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for resurfacing. Work is expected to continue through late June. Work is being performed by Gerken Paving, Inc., Napoleon.
 
State Route 15/state Route 18 overlap over the Tiffin River will be restricted during pavement repair. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers. Work is being performed by the ODOT Defiance County maintenance garage.
 
State Route 281 (Domersville Road) between U.S. 24 and state Route 18 will be restricted during pavement repair. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers. Work is being performed by the ODOT Defiance County maintenance garage.
 
HANCOCK COUNTY

Interstate 75 southbound, north of state Route 613, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for guardrail repair. Work is scheduled to occur on June 28. Work is being performed by the ODOT roadway services department and the ODOT Hancock County maintenance garage.
 
State Route 15 eastbound, just west of state Route 330, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for guardrail repair. Work is scheduled to occur on June 28. Work is being performed by the ODOT roadway services department and the ODOT Hancock County maintenance garage.
 
State Route 37 south of Mount Blanchard, between county Road 156 and township Road 150, closed June 18 for approximately five days for replacement of two culverts. Traffic is detoured onto U.S. 30, U.S. 68 and state Route 103 back to state Route 37. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hancock County maintenance garage.
State Route 103 near the village of Jenera, between county Road 698 and township Road 59, will close June 25 for five days for replacement of three culverts. Traffic detoured onto state Route 235, U.S. 30 and U.S. 68 back to state Route 103. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hancock County maintenance garage. (see map)
State Route 103 between county Road 9 and township Road 65, between the villages of Jenera and Arlington, closed May 23 for approximately 30 days for a culvert replacement. The highway is expected to reopen early in the week of June 25. Traffic is detoured onto U.S. 68, U.S. 30 and state Route 235 back to state Route 103. Work is being performed by Miller Contracting Group, Ottoville. (see map)
U.S. 224 between township Road 276 and county Road 23 in West Independence closed May 21 for approximately 45 days for a bridge overlay project. The project also includes the replacement of approach slabs on the bridge, the addition of curtain walls and upgrades to guardrail. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 12 and U.S. 23 back onto U.S. 224. Work is being performed by Vernon Nagel, Inc., Napoleon. (see map)
State Route 330 over state Route 15, Vanlue, closed May 29 for approximately four months for a bridge deck replacement. Work is being performed by E.S. Wagner, Oregon.

The project will have the following impacts to traffic:
·        State Route 330 over state Route 15 closed May 29 for approximately four months.
o   State Route 330 northbound traffic is detoured onto state Route 15 eastbound, U.S. 23/state Route 103, and state Route 15 westbound back onto state Route 330. (see map)
o   State Route 330 southbound traffic is detoured onto state Route 15 westbound, state Route 37 and state Route 15 eastbound back to state Route 330. (see map)
·        Lane restrictions on state Route 15 approaching the bridge are in place through the duration of the project.

State Route 698 over Interstate 75, between Rawson and Findlay, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for a bridge repair project. The project will resume July 2 and last approximately one week. Shoulder restrictions on Interstate 75 beneath the state Route 698 overpass are to be expected during the project. Work is being performed by Complete General Construction, Columbus.
 
HARDIN COUNTY
 
State Route 67 between the city of Kenton and the Wyandot County line, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair and resurfacing. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
State Route 53, just south of Patterson, closed April 2 for approximately 90 days for a bridge deck replacement. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 31, U.S. 68 and state Route 81 back onto state Route 53. Work is being performed by Eagle Bridge Company, Sidney. (see map)
 
State Route 195 between county Road 110 and township Road 100 (East Cottonwood Road), just south of McGuffey, closed June 6 for approximately 30 days for a resurfacing and widening project. Traffic is detoured onto county Road 110, state Route 235 and state Route 309 back onto state Route 195. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton. (see map)
 
State Route 309 between the Allen County line and the city of Kenton will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for resurfacing. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.
 
PAULDING COUNTY
 
U.S. 30 between the Indiana state line and state Route 49 north will be occasionally restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement striping and rumble strip installation as part of a resurfacing and concrete joint repair project. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
County Road 11 retaining wall repair under U.S. 24, just east of the Indiana state line, is complete.
 
State Route 49 throughout Paulding County will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.
 
State Route 49 between township Road 204 and county Road 220, north of Antwerp, is now open following a culvert replacement.
 
State Route 49 just north of state Route 111 will close June 25 for five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic detoured onto state Route 111, U.S. 127 and U.S. 24 back to state Route 49. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage. (see map)
 
State Route 111 resurfacing between U.S. 127 and state Route 637 is complete.
 
County Road 123, approximately a half mile south of state Route 114, closed June 18 through September for a bridge replacement project over Hagerman Creek. The project is part of the Ohio Bridge Partnership Program, which is administered through the Ohio Department of Transportation. The program provides funding for the repair or replacement of municipal and county bridges. Work is being performed by Eagle Bridge Company, Sidney.
 
State Route 637 between Road 118 and Road 138, northwest of Melrose, closed April 18 until late July for ditch relocation. The project also includes the relocation of a 72-inch pipe beneath county Road 126 to match the flow of the new ditch. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 613 and state Route 66 back onto state Route 637. Work is being performed by VTF Excavation, Celina. (see map)
 
PUTNAM COUNTY
 
Bridge repair, pavement repair and resurfacing on the following routes within the Delphos and Ottoville area will have the following impacts to traffic. Work will resume on pavement repair and resurfacing within the next two weeks. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.
 
  • State Route 66 over U.S. 30 is now open following bridge repair.
  • State Route 66, state Route 190 and state Route 697 within the city of Delphos will be restricted to one lane at various locations for pavement repairs and resurfacing.
  • State Route 66 and state Route 189 within the village of Ottoville will be restricted to one lane at various locations for pavement repairs and resurfacing.
  • State Route 66, state Route 190 and state Route 697 within the city of Delphos will be restricted to one lane at various locations for pavement repairs.
  • State Route 66 and state Route 189 within the village of Ottoville will be restricted to one lane at various locations for pavement repairs.
 
State Route 108 between county Road D and county Road E, north of Miller City, will close June 25 for approximately five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 613, state Route 109 and state Route 18 back onto state Route 108. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage. (see map)
 
State Route 634 between state Route 613 and the village of Continental will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for resurfacing. Work is expected to continue through late July. Work is being performed by Gerken Paving, Inc., Napoleon.

VAN WERT COUNTY
 
U.S. 30 between the Indiana state line and state Route 49 north will be occasionally restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement striping and rumble strip installation as part of a resurfacing and concrete joint repair project. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
Bridge repair, pavement repair and resurfacing on the following routes within the Delphos and Ottoville area will have the following impacts to traffic. Work will resume on the pavement repair and resurfacing within the next two weeks. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.
 
  • State Route 66 over U.S. 30 is now open following bridge repair.
  • State Route 66, state Route 190 and state Route 697 within the city of Delphos will be restricted to one lane at various locations for pavement repairs and resurfacing.
  • State Route 66 and state Route 189 within the village of Ottoville will be restricted to one lane at various locations for pavement repairs and resurfacing.
  • State Route 66, state Route 190 and state Route 697 within the city of Delphos will be restricted to one lane at various locations for pavement repairs.
  • State Route 66 and state Route 189 within the village of Ottoville will be restricted to one lane at various locations for pavement repairs.
 
State Route 118 at Wren Landeck Road will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for repair of the road shoulder. Work is being performed by the ODOT Van Wert County maintenance garage.
 
State Route 81 between the village of Willshire and the Allen County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for a chip seal project. Work is being done by the ODOT Van Wert County maintenance garage.
 
State Route 709 between county Road 103 and Goodwin Road, west of Venedocia, is now open following culvert replacement at three locations.
 
State Route 709 between Ohio City and state Route 116 is restricted to one lane through the work zone for a resurfacing project which will continue through mid-July. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
WYANDOT COUNTY

State Route 53
over U.S. 23/U.S. 30, north of Upper Sandusky, is now open following a bridge repair project.
State Route 103 between township Highway 30 and county Highway 37 is now open following replacement of three culverts.
State Route 231 between township Road 14 and country Road 9, just south of the Seneca County line, will close July 9 for approximately five days for the replacement of two culverts. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 67, state Route 100 and U.S. 224 back to state Route 231. Work is being performed by the ODOT Wyandot County maintenance garage. (see map)
