Public Hearing Scheduled Regarding Interstate 75 Reconstruction
Other upcoming projects to be discussed
LIMA (Thursday, June 23, 2011) – The Ohio Department of Transportation has scheduled a public hearing to discuss the upcoming reconstruction of Interstate 75 and related projects on adjacent highways.
The hearing will be held on Tuesday, June 28 in the commons area at Lima Senior High School, 1 Spartan Way, Lima.
An open house will take place from 5-6 p.m. during which displays of the projects will be available for viewing. Transportation officials will be available during this time and throughout the evening to address questions.
A formal presentation will begin at 6 p.m. which will be followed by an official comment period and a question-and-answer session during which members of the public may ask questions and make a comment regarding any of the projects discussed.
Representatives from ODOT and its consultant, Parsons-Brinckerhoff, will present information concerning the reconstruction of Interstate 75 from the Auglaize County line to just north of Ohio 81 in Allen County. The project will consist of three separate construction projects, the first of which will begin next year.
Also discussed will be a safety upgrade project on Ohio 117/309 (Harding Highway) on Lima’s east side, scheduled for 2013 construction. In addition, a proposed drainage improvement project on Ohio 81 (Findlay Road) from just east of Sugar Street to Neubrecht Road on Lima’s east side will be presented. That project is currently scheduled for 2014.
“The reconstruction of Interstate 75 is one of the most significant projects our area will experience and we encourage the public to attend the hearing and learn how this and the related upcoming projects will affect them,” said Kirk Slusher, Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 deputy director.
