Public Hearing on Future of Ohio 195 Set
Lima (Thursday, February 25, 2010) – A public hearing regarding the future of Ohio 195 from Ohio 309 to Ohio 235 will be conducted by the Ohio Department of Transportation.
The hearing will be held Wednesday, March 3 in the auditeria at the Upper Scioto Valley School.
An open house informational session will begin at 5:30 p.m. to give citizens an opportunity to view display boards of the proposed changes and ask questions of project personnel. At 6:30 p.m., a formal presentation will be given followed by a question and answer session. The public will then have the opportunity to make official statements regarding the proposals during the formal hearing portion of the meeting.
“We encourage the public to participate in the process which will determine the future of Ohio 195,” said Leonard E. Brown, Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 deputy director.
The public will be asked to comment on several alternatives developed for the highway which has been closed since September due to failure of the pavement caused by slipping of the embankment. The route has been closed several times in the past due to failure.
