The following is a weekly report concerning construction and maintenance work on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. This report is issued each week beginning in April and continues through November.

Week of May 11, 2015
Allen County
 
Interstate 75 Reconstruction project For the most recent information concerning the Interstate 75 reconstruction project through Lima and Allen County please visit www.odotlima75.org.
 
Interstate 75 and Ohio 696, Beaverdam – The southbound entrance and northbound exit ramps at Interstate 75 and Ohio 696 at Beaverdam will be closed during the week of May 11 for pavement repair. The schedule for the closures is as follows. Work is being performed by the Allen County ODOT maintenance garage:
  • Beginning Monday, May 11, the entrance ramp to Interstate 75 southbound from Ohio 696 will be closed for three days. Traffic will be detoured north onto Interstate 75 to the Ohio 103/Bentley Road interchange back to Interstate 75 southbound.
  • On Thursday, May 14, the exit ramp from Interstate 75 northbound to Ohio 696 will be closed for one day only. Traffic will be detoured north on Interstate 75 to the Ohio 103/Bentley Road interchange to Interstate 75 south back to Ohio 696 at Beaverdam.
  • Only one ramp at a time will be closed.
 Ohio 81 between Sugar Street and Neubrecht Road at the railroad tracks adjacent to Sugar Street will reopen the evening of Friday, May 8. Once the road is reopened, traffic will continue to be restricted through this area until October as the pavement repairs, curb, sidewalk and resurfacing work continues. Work is being performed by R.B. Jergens Contractors Inc., Dayton.
 
Defiance County
 
Ohio 49 south of Edgerton, both north and south of Kramer Road, closed May 4 for culvert replacements. Two additional culvert replacements have been added to the project and will now close the route for a total of 10 days. Traffic detoured onto Ohio 249, Ohio 2, Ohio 576 and U.S. 6 back to Ohio 49. Work is being performed by the Defiance County ODOT maintenance garage.
 
Ohio 18/49 will have occasional lane restrictions during the week for work relating to the installation of curb ramps in preparation for a resurfacing project. Work is currently taking place between the Hicksville High School and Ohio 2. This work is expected to be completed during the week at which time the project will be temporarily suspended. Resurfacing work is expected to begin in approximately three weeks. Work is being performed by Brooks Construction, Ft. Wayne, Ind.
 
Hancock County
 
Ohio 15 northbound east of the U.S. 68 junction will be one lane through the work zone beginning on May 12 for a roadside slide repair project which is expected to continue through July. The work will be performed by Sand Ridge Excavating, Cloverdale.
 
Interstate 75 southbound from just south of U.S. 68 to six miles to the south, south of Findlay, will be restricted to one lane on Tuesday, May 12 for pavement evaluation. Work is being performed by ODOT combined forces from District 1, Lima, and central office, Columbus.
 
Interstate 75 in Wood and Hancock counties: Through 2016, southbound I-75 is reduced to two lanes from US 20 to I-475 in Perrysburg. Through November, from 8pm until 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75 between the I-75/I-475 interchange in Perrysburg to CR 99 in Hancock County. Through 2016, 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-75 between US 20 in Perrysburg to CR 99 in Hancock County.  Project complete: October 2017. All work is weather permitting.
 
Special events . . .
·       Effective Monday, April 27, through December, Township Road 101 in Hancock County, between CR 220 and TR 142, will be closed for bridge work on I-75.
 
Hardin County
 
Ohio 273 in the village of Mount Victory was closed May 4 for approximately five days for a waterline. Work is being done by VTF Excavation, Celina.
 
Ohio 67 westbound from County Road 75 to Township Road 85 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone during the week for a drainage project. Work is being performed by the Hardin County ODOT maintenance garage.
 
U.S. 68 between Washington Street and Wayne Street in the village of Dunkirk closed May 6 for approximately two days for continuation of a railroad crossing repair. Traffic detoured onto Ohio 81, Ohio 235 and U.S. 30 back to U.S. 68. Work is being performed by LandRail Inc., LaOtto, Ind.
 
Paulding County
 
Ohio 613 east of Payne between County Road 11 and Township Road 21 will be closed beginning on May 11 for five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto County Road 1 and Ohio 500 back to Ohio 613. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage.
 
Seeding will occur at the following locations during the week with traffic maintained through the work zone. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage:
-Ohio 637 north of County Road 126
-Ohio 500 just south of Ohio 111
-Ohio 111 east of County Road 133
-Ohio 66 at the Putnam County line
-Ohio 613 east of Township Road 131
 
U.S. 127 between Garfield Avenue and Jackson Street in the village of Paulding closed April 13 for approximately eight months for a sewer separation project. Traffic detoured onto Ohio 613, Ohio 637 and Ohio 111 back to U.S. 127. Work is being performed by VTF Excavation, Celina.
 
Putnam County
 
Ohio 114 northwest of the village of Kalida just west of County Road 19 will be closed beginning May 11 for approximately five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 694, Ohio 115 and U.S. 224 back to Ohio 114. Once Ohio 114 reopens, County Road 19 will close for approximately one week also for culvert replacements. Work is being performed by the Putnam County ODOT maintenance garage.
 
Van Wert County
 
Ohio 697 west of Point Wetzel Road will be closed for approximately 45 days beginning June 8 to replace the bridge over the Auglaize River. Traffic will be directed onto Ohio 116 to Ohio 81 to Ohio 66 back onto Ohio 697. Work is being done by Brumbaugh Construction, Inc., Arcanum.
 
U.S. 30 eastbound and westbound at various locations from just east of Dutch John Road to Ringwald Road west of Middle Point will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for bridge maintenance. Work is being performed by the Van Wert County ODOT maintenance garage.
 
Wyandot County
 
U.S. 23 southbound near the intersection of Township Highway 103 will be reduced to one lane through the work zone on May 8 from approximately 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. for bridge joint repairs. Work is being performed by the ODOT District 1 bridge maintenance crew.
 
Ohio 294 from just west of U.S. 23 to just west of Ohio 231 will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the Wyandot County ODOT maintenance garage.
 
Ohio 231 from Ohio 294 to County Highway 330 will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the Wyandot County ODOT maintenance garage.
 
U.S. 23/30 northbound and southbound at Upper Sandusky is currently reduced to one lane through the work zone for bridge and pavement repair and resurfacing. On U.S. 23 the zone extends from south of Ohio 182 to just south of County Road 47, and on U.S. 30 from the U.S. 23 split to Township Highway 103. Work is being performed by Kokosing Construction, Columbus.
 
U.S. 23 northbound entrance ramp from eastbound U.S. 30 closed May 4 for approximately three weeks for pavement resurfacing and bridge deck repair. Traffic detoured east on U.S. 30, north on Ohio 199 back to U.S. 23 northbound. Work is being performed by Kokosing Construction, Columbus.
