U.S. 224 interchange at Interstate 75 reconstruction, Findlay

The U.S. 224 interchange with Interstate 75, Findlay, is currently being reconstructed. The project began in February and is expected to be completed late this fall. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers Construction, Archbold.

The following traffic impacts related to the reconstruction are in effect or will occur in the upcoming weeks:

Interstate 75

- Both the northbound and southbound lanes are narrowed and shifted approaching the U.S. 224 interchange.

- Lane restrictions will continue both northbound and southbound for overhead work at the bridge. Restrictions will occur between 10 p.m. and 10 a.m.

U.S. 224

-On Monday, June 30, pouring of the concrete deck is expected to take place. The operation will take place during nighttime hours and may require the travel lanes on the bridge to be narrowed. Motorists are asked to be aware of concrete delivery trucks entering and exiting the work zone. For seven days following the pouring of the deck, clean water will be continuously placed onto the new bridge as part of the concrete curing process. Although efforts to channel the water away from traffic will be made, some of this water may fall onto the lanes of I-75 below.

-In mid July, the ramps on the south side of the interchange (northbound exit, southbound entrance) will close for two weeks for reconstruction. Once the south side ramps are open, the ramps on the north side of the interchange will close, also for two weeks (southbound exit, northbound entrance).

-Short-term, daytime lane closures should be expected throughout the week. Traffic maintained with flaggers.

-Traffic on the bridge over Interstate 75, Findlay, is traveling on the north half of the bridge, one lane in each direction with no turn lanes. All ramps at the interchange are currently open.

-Motorists are cautioned to watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting at various locations throughout the work zone on U.S. 224 and along the interchange ramps.
