Week
of July 9, 2018
The following is work scheduled to occur
on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1,
which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding,
Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. The schedule of work is dependent upon weather
conditions, and unless otherwise noted, work will take place during daytime
hours.

ALLEN COUNTY
Interstate 75 between Bentley Road and state
Route 103 will be restricted to one lane at times for a bridge repair project.
Work will occur on I-75 over Riley Creek in Allen County and on the county Road 15 bridge over Interstate 75
in Hancock County. The project is expected to be completed in late September.
Work is being performed by Miller Brothers Construction, Archbold.
The
project will have the following anticipated impacts to traffic:
- Interstate
75 in both directions is
restricted to one lane in each direction through the work zone at times.
A maximum width restriction of 13 feet is in place during the lane
restriction.
- Variable
speed limits are in place through the work zone. Electronic messages
boards display the posted, legal speed limit, which will be reduced
during construction operations and presence of workers in the area. The
posted speed limit on the electronic boards is enforceable by law.
Interstate 75 over Little Riley Creek, just
north of Beaverdam, will be restricted to one lane at times for a bridge
repair project. Shoulder restrictions are also possible during the project. A
maximum width restriction of 12 feet is in place during the lane
restrictions. Work will begin July 9 and last for approximately one month.
Work is being performed by Complete General Construction, Columbus.
The
following Interstate 75 ramps will
be affected by highway projects:
·
Interstate 75 southbound
entrance ramp from state Route 696,
Beaverdam, is now open following a pavement repair project.
·
Interstate 75 southbound entrance
ramp from Bluelick Road,
Lima, is now open following a joint repair project.
·
Interstate 75 southbound exit
ramp to Bluelick Road,
Lima, is now open following a bridge inspection.
Interstate 75 near the U.S. 30 overpass, just
south of Beaverdam, will be restricted to one lane in both directions between
6 p.m. on July 5 and 7 a.m. on July 6 for preparations for a culvert
replacement project. Beginning the night of July 5, the shoulders of
Interstate 75 will be closed in both directions through the duration of the project.
Work is expected to continue through August. Work is being performed by
Beaverdam Contracting, Bluffton.
Interstate 75 northbound between state Route
81 and Napoleon Road will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for
pavement repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance
garage.
U.S. 30 eastbound
exit ramp to state Route 696,
Beaverdam, will close July 6 for approximately three days for pavement
repairs. Traffic is detoured onto U.S. 30 eastbound, state Route 235 and U.S.
30 westbound back to state Route 696. Work is being performed by Shelly and
Sands, Zanesville. (see map)
State Route 65 between Grand Avenue and state
Route 115, Lima, is reduced to one lane through the work zone at various
locations for work related to a roadway rehabilitation project that will last
through the summer. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company, Findlay.
The
following impacts to traffic are occurring:
- Traffic
has been switched on state Route 65 between Northern Avenue and Jacobs
Avenue, just north of Casa Lu Al Restaurant, to the southbound side of
the roadway while widening work on the northbound side of the road takes
place.
- One lane of traffic is maintained in both
directions. The turn lane is not available.
- Traffic delays can be expected during the
project.
State Route 81 from Wapak Road to Eastown
Road, Lima, is no longer restricted as curb ramp work is mostly complete.
Resurfacing of the route will occur in the coming weeks. Work is being
performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.
State
Route 81 from the Indiana state line in Van Wert County to
state Route 66 in Allen County will be reduced to one lane through the work
zone for a chip seal project. Work is being performed by the ODOT Van Wert
County maintenance garage.
State Route 117 between Bowman Road the
Auglaize County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for
pavement repairs. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County
maintenance garage.
State Route 309 between Thayer Road and
Phillips Road, east of Lima, will close July 16 for approximately five days
for the replacement of two culverts. Traffic will be detoured onto I-75,
state Route 81 and state Route 235 back onto state Route 309. Work is being
performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage. (see map)
State Route 696 between U.S. 30 and the
village of Beaverdam will be restricted to one lane through the work zone
during pavement resurfacing. Work is being performed by Shelly and Sands,
Zanesville.
DEFIANCE COUNTY
State
Route 2 between Hicksville and the Williams County line,
except its overlap with state Route 249, will be reduced to one lane through
the work zones for pavement resurfacing. Work is expected to continue through
early July. Work is being performed by Gerken Paving, Inc., Napoleon.
State
Route 66 at Palmer Drive, within the city of Defiance, will
close July 23 for approximately 30 days for the construction of a roundabout.
Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 637, state Route 111, Dietrick
Street and Holgate Avenue back to state Route 66. Work is being performed by
the city of Defiance. (see map)
HANCOCK COUNTY

Route 37 south of Mount Blanchard, between county Road 156
and township Road 150, is now open following the replacement of two culverts.
U.S.
68 between Liberty Street and the bridge over Buck Run, within the village
of Arlington, will close July 9 for approximately four months for a
reconstruction project. Local access will be maintained throughout the
project. Work is being performed by Miller Contracting Group, Ottoville.
The following detours will be in place through the
duration of the project.

U.S.
68 northbound traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 30, state
Route 235 and Interstate 75 back onto U.S. 68. (see map)
·
U.S.
68 southbound traffic will be detoured onto state Route 15,
U.S. 23 and U.S. 30 back onto U.S. 68. (see map)
State
Route 103 between county Road 698 and township Road 59, near
the village of Jenera, is now open following a culvert replacement.
State
Route 103 just east and west of the village of Arlington
will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repairs.
Work is being performed by the ODOT Hancock County maintenance garage.
U.S.
224 between township Road 276 and county Road 23 in West Independence is
now open following a bridge deck replacement.
State
Route 235 between U.S. 224 and the village of McComb will be
restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repairs. Work is
being performed by the ODOT Hancock County maintenance garage.
State Route 330 over
state Route 15, Vanlue, closed May 29 for approximately four months for a
bridge deck replacement. Lane restrictions on state Route 15 approaching the
bridge are in place through the duration of the project. Work is being
performed by E.S. Wagner, Oregon.
The following detours are in place through the duration of the project.

State
Route 330 northbound traffic is detoured onto state Route 15
eastbound, U.S. 23/state Route 103, and state Route 15 westbound back onto
state Route 330. (see map)

State
Route 330 southbound traffic is detoured onto state Route 15
westbound, state Route 37 and state Route 15 eastbound back to state Route
330. (see map)
State Route 698 over
Interstate 75, between Rawson and Findlay, will be restricted to one lane
through the work zone for a bridge repair project. The project will resume
July 2 and last approximately one week. Shoulder restrictions on Interstate
75 beneath the state Route 698 overpass are to be expected during the project.
Work is being performed by Complete General Construction, Columbus.
HARDIN COUNTY
State
Route 67 between the city of Kenton and the Wyandot County
line, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement
repair and resurfacing. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.
State
Route 195 between county Road 110 and township Road 100
(East Cottonwood Road), south of McGuffey, is now open following a widening
and resurfacing project.
State
Route 309 between the Allen County line and the city of
Kenton, including its overlap with state Route 235, will be reduced to one
lane through the work zone for resurfacing. Work is being performed by
Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.
State
Route 385, just west of Roundhead, will close July 9 for
approximately five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured
onto state Route 196, state Route 67 and state Route 117 back to state Route
385. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hardin County maintenance garage. (see map)
PAULDING COUNTY
State
Route 49 between the village of Payne and the Defiance
County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for work
being done in preparation for a chip seal project. Work is being performed by
the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.
County
Road 123, approximately a half-mile south of state Route
114, closed June 18 through September for a bridge replacement project over
Hagerman Creek. The project is part of the Ohio Bridge Partnership Program,
which is administered through the Ohio Department of Transportation. The
program provides funding for the repair or replacement of municipal and
county bridges. Work is being performed by Eagle Bridge Company, Sidney.
State
Route 637 between Road 118 and Road 138, northwest of
Melrose, closed April 18 until late July for ditch relocation. The project
also includes the relocation of a 72-inch pipe beneath county Road 126 to
match the flow of the new ditch. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 613 and
state Route 66 back onto state Route 637. Work is being performed by VTF Excavation,
Celina. (see map)
State
Route 637 between state Route 613 and Road 108, west of
Melrose, will close July 9 for approximately five days for a culvert
replacement. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 613 and state Route 66 back
onto state Route 637. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance
garage.
PUTNAM COUNTY
Bridge
repair, pavement repair and resurfacing on the following routes within the
Delphos and Ottoville area will have the following impacts to traffic.
Work has resumed and will continue through September. Work is being performed
by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.
- State
Route 66, state Route 190 and state Route 697 within the city of Delphos will be
restricted to one lane at various locations for pavement repairs and
resurfacing.
- State
Route 66 and state Route 189 within the village of Ottoville will be
restricted to one lane at various locations for pavement repairs and
resurfacing.
- State
Route 66, state Route 190 and state Route 697 within the city of Delphos will be
restricted to one lane at various locations for pavement repairs.
- State
Route 66 and state Route 189 within the village of Ottoville will be
restricted to one lane at various locations for pavement repairs.
Cleaning
of drainage structures will restrict the following routes to one lane. Work
is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.

Route 66 between
the Van Wert County line and U.S. 224
·
State
Route 108 between
state Route 15 and the Henry County line
·
State
Route 109 between
the village of Ottawa and the Henry County line
State
Route 65 between the southern village limits of Leipsic
and the Henry County line will be restricted to one lane through the work
zone for a resurfacing project. The project also includes curb ramp
construction within the villages of Leipsic and Belmore. Work is being
performed by Gerken Paving, Inc., Napoleon.
State
Route 108 between county Road D and county Road E, north of
Miller City, is now open following a culvert replacement.
State
Route 109 between state Route 613 and the Henry County
line, west of Leipsic, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone
for a resurfacing project. Work is being performed by Gerken Paving, Inc.,
Napoleon.
State
Route 613 between state Route 15 and county Road 7, between
the villages of Continental and Leipsic, will be restricted to one lane
through the work zone for a resurfacing project. Work is being performed by
Gerken Paving, Inc., Napoleon.
VAN WERT COUNTY
U.S.
30 just east of Richey Road, west of the city of Van Wert, and just east
of John Brickner Road, west of the city of Delphos, will be reduced to one
lane in each direction for bridge deck sealing. Work is expected to last one
week. Work is being performed by the ODOT roadway services department.
Bridge
repair, pavement repair and resurfacing on the following routes within the
Delphos and Ottoville area will have the following impacts to traffic.
Work has resumed and will continue through September. Work is being performed
by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.
- State
Route 66, state Route 190 and state Route 697 within the city of Delphos will be
restricted to one lane at various locations for pavement repairs and
resurfacing.
- State
Route 66 and state Route 189 within the village of Ottoville will be
restricted to one lane at various locations for pavement repairs and
resurfacing.
- State
Route 66, state Route 190 and state Route 697 within the city of Delphos will be
restricted to one lane at various locations for pavement repairs.
- State
Route 66 and state Route 189 within the village of Ottoville will be
restricted to one lane at various locations for pavement repairs.
State

WYANDOT COUNTY
State Route 231 between
township Road 14 and county Road 9, just south of the Seneca County line,
will close July 9 for approximately five days for the replacement of two
culverts. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 67, state Route 100 and
U.S. 224 back to state Route 231. Work is being performed by the ODOT Wyandot
