Highway Construction
Week of Oct. 15, 2018

The following is work scheduled to occur on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1, which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. The schedule of work is dependent upon weather conditions, and unless otherwise noted, work will take place during daytime hours.

ALLEN COUNTY
 
Interstate 75 between Bentley Road and state Route 103, Bluffton, will be restricted to one lane at times for a bridge repair project on I-75 over Riley Creek and on the county Road 15 bridge over Interstate 75. A maximum width restriction of 13 feet is in place during lane restrictions. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers Construction, Archbold.
 
Interstate 75 over Little Riley Creek, just north of Beaverdam, is restricted to one lane at times for a bridge repair project. Shoulder restrictions are also possible during the project. A maximum width restriction of 12 feet is in place during the lane restrictions. Work is being performed by Complete General Construction, Columbus.
 
Interstate 75 between state Route 81 and state Route 65, Lima, will be reduced to one lane in both directions at times for repair of pavement under warranty. Work will take place on the mainline lanes of I-75, as well as the exit and entrance ramps at state Route 81, state Route 309 and Fourth Street. Traffic will be maintained while work is completed on entrance and exit ramps. Work is expected to continue through late October. Work is being performed by Kokosing Construction Company, Columbus.
 
Interstate 75 between state Route 81 and Napoleon Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage.
 
U.S. 30 will be restricted to one lane at times in both directions at multiple locations in Allen and Van Wert counties for the sealing and patching of bridge decks. A maximum width restriction of 12 feet will be in place during lane restrictions. The affected locations are as follows. Work is being performed by Complete General Construction, Columbus.
 
·       U.S. 30 near State Route 115, west of the village of Cairo in Allen County
·       U.S. 30 between Leatherwood Road and Ridge Road, east of the city of Delphos in Allen County
·       U.S. 30 between Ringwald Road and Dog Creek Road, north of the village of Middle Point in Van Wert County
 
State Route 65 between Grand Avenue and state Route 115, Lima, is reduced to one lane through the work zone at various locations for work related to a roadway rehabilitation project. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
The following associated impacts to traffic are expected.
  • State Route 65 between Grand Avenue and Northern Avenue will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for resurfacing and the reconstruction of concrete driveways and sidewalks. The turn lane is not available.
  • Northern Avenue at its intersection with state Route 65 has been restored to full access following work on the intersection.
 
State Route 81 from Wapak Road to Eastown Road, Lima, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for work associated with pavement resurfacing in the coming weeks. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
State Route 81 between McClure Road and Fisher Road, west of Lafayette, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement resurfacing. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.
 
State Route 309 between Interstate 75 and the Allen County Fairgrounds, Lima, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for repairs of pavement under warranty. Work is being performed by Kokosing Construction Company, Columbus.
 
Elida Road from just south of Fifth Street (Lincoln Highway) in the city of Delphos to its intersection with state Route 309 closed Sept. 17 for approximately 45 days during a joint and pavement repair project. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 309, U.S. 30 and Fifth Street back to Elida Road. The project is being administered by the Ohio Department of Transportation for the Allen County Engineer’s Office. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
DEFIANCE COUNTY
 
U.S. 24 at Domersville Road (state Route 281) will be restricted through the work zone during installation of a new traffic signal. Work is expected to begin Oct. 15 and will continue for approximately three weeks. Work is being performed by Perram Electric, Wadsworth.
 
HANCOCK COUNTY

Interstate 75 between Bentley Road and state Route 103, Bluffton, will be restricted to one lane at times for a bridge repair project on I-75 over Riley Creek and on the county Road 15 bridge over Interstate 75. A maximum width restriction of 13 feet is in place during lane restrictions. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers Construction, Archbold.
 
U.S. 68 between the city of Findlay and the Hardin County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for berm repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hancock County maintenance garage.
 
U.S. 68 between Liberty Street and the bridge over Buck Run, within the village of Arlington, closed July 9 for approximately four months for pavement reconstruction. Local access will be maintained throughout the project. Work is being performed by Miller Contracting Group, Ottoville.
 
The following detours will be in place through the duration of the project.
·       U.S. 68 northbound traffic is detoured onto U.S. 30, state Route 235 and Interstate 75 back onto U.S. 68. (see map)
·       U.S. 68 southbound traffic is detoured onto state Route 15, U.S. 23 and U.S. 30 back onto U.S. 68. (see map)
 
State Route 330 between North Street and state Route 568, north of Vanlue, will be restricted to one lane for a resurfacing project. Work is being performed by M&B Asphalt, Tiffin.
 
State Route 330 over state Route 15, Vanlue, is now open following a bridge deck replacement. Lane restrictions on state Route 330 and on state Route 15 under state Route 330 are possible as work continues. Work is being performed by E.S. Wagner, Oregon.
 
State Route 568 (Sandusky Street) between Grand Avenue and Blanchard Avenue, within the city of Findlay, will close Oct. 15 for approximately three days for railroad crossing repairs. Traffic will be detoured onto Main Street, Lincoln Street and Blanchard Street back to state Route 568 (Sandusky Street). Work is being performed by Safety Services Supply. (see map)

State Route 568 between Bright Road in Findlay and the village of Carey will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for a resurfacing project. Work is being performed by M&B Asphalt, Tiffin.
 
HARDIN COUNTY
 
The following routes will be restricted to one lane in various locations throughout Hardin County for pavement crack sealing. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hardin County maintenance garage.
 
·       State Route 31 between Kenton and Mount Victory
·       U.S. 68 between Kenton and the Hancock County line
·       State Route 81 between the Allen County line and Patterson
·       State Route 235 between the Hancock County line and the Logan County line
·       State Route 385 between Roundhead the Auglaize County line
 
State Route 67 between the city of Kenton and the Wyandot County line, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for finish work associated with a pavement repair and resurfacing project. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Findlay.
 
State Route 81 between township Road 55 and county Road 65, just east of the village of Ada, is open early following the replacement of two culverts.
 
State Route 309 between the Allen County line and the city of Kenton, including its overlap with state Route 235, will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for resurfacing. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.
 
PAULDING COUNTY
 
U.S. 24 between county Road 87 and U.S. 127, near the village of Cecil, will be restricted to one lane in both directions during soil boring operations. Work is being performed by ODOT Central Office.
 
State Route 111/state Route 637 overlap just west of township Road 153, within the community of Junction, is now open following a culvert replacement.
 
State Route 637 between the Van Wert County line and state Route 613 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repairs. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.
 
PUTNAM COUNTY
 
The following routes within Putnam County will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for the cleaning of drainage structures. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.
 
·       State Route 108 between state Route 15 and the Henry County line
·       U.S. 224 between Van Wert County line and the Hancock County line
 
State Route 190 at township Road Q, north of Fort Jennings, closed Aug. 13 for approximately four months for the installation of a retaining wall along the Auglaize River. Traffic will be detoured onto state Route 634 and U.S. 224 back to state Route 190. Work is being performed by Kokosing Construction Company, Columbus. (see map)

VAN WERT COUNTY
U.S. 224 bridge over U.S. 30 currently has a shoulder closure in preparation for an upcoming bridge repair project. Repairs are being overseen by ODOT District 1.
 
U.S. 30 will be restricted to one lane at times in both directions at multiple locations in Allen and Van Wert counties for the sealing and patching of bridge decks. A maximum width restriction of 12 feet will be in place during lane restrictions. The affected locations are as follows. Work is being performed by Complete General Construction, Columbus.
 
·       U.S. 30 near State Route 115, west of the village of Cairo in Allen County
·       U.S. 30 between Leatherwood Road and Ridge Road, east of the city of Delphos in Allen County
·       U.S. 30 between Ringwald Road and Dog Creek Road, north of the village of Middle Point in Van Wert County
 
U.S. 30 over U.S. 127/U.S. 224, within the city of Van Wert, will be restricted to one lane at times in both directions during a bridge repair project beginning Oct. 15. A maximum width restriction of 12 feet will be in place during lane restrictions. Work is being performed by Complete General Construction, Columbus.
 
The following ramp closures will be associated with the project.
·       U.S. 30 eastbound to U.S. 127/U.S. 224 exit ramp will close Oct. 22 for approximately 21 days. Traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 30 eastbound, the Lincoln Highway interchange and U.S. 30 westbound back to U.S. 127/U.S. 224. (see map)
·       U.S. 127/U.S. 224 to U.S. 30 westbound entrance ramp will close Oct. 22 for approximately 21 days. Traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 30 eastbound and the Lincoln Highway interchange back to U.S. 30 westbound. (see map)
 
U.S. 30 beneath U.S. 224, just west of the city of Van Wert, will be restricted to one lane in both directions for work associated with pavement repairs. The following ramp will be closed as part of the project. Work is being performed by the ODOT Van Wert County maintenance garage.
 
·       U.S. 224 to U.S. 30 westbound ramp closed Oct. 9 for approximately four days, also for pavement repairs. Traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 30 eastbound and the U.S. 127 interchange back to U.S. 30 westbound. (see map)
 
State Route 116 just south of Middle Point Road, east of the city of Van Wert, is now open following a culvert replacement.
 
WYANDOT COUNTY

State Route 568 between Bright Road in Findlay and the village of Carey will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for a resurfacing project. Work is being performed by M&B Asphalt, Tiffin.
