The following is the weekly report concerning construction and maintenance work on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. This report is issued each week beginning in April and continues through November.

Construction and Maintenance Projects

Week of September 29, 2014

Allen County

Interstate 75 Reconstruction Project For the most recent information concerning the Interstate 75 reconstruction project through Lima and Allen County please visit www.odotlima75.org

 

U.S. 30 from Ohio 235 in Hancock County to the village of Beaverdam will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repairs. Work is expected to be finished this week. Work is being performed by Smith Paving & Excavating Inc., Norwalk.

 

U.S. 30 east of Defiance Road is open after the completion bridge deck repairs.

 

U.S. 30 westbound between Beaverdam and Ohio 65 will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the Allen County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Ohio 81 from Stewart Road to the Hardin County line is restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement resurfacing. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay.

 

U.S. 30/Ohio 309 near Delphos may be restricted to one lane at times through the work zone for culvert work. Work is expected to be completed in the fall. Work is being performed by Platinum Painting, Boardman.

Defiance County

 

Ohio 18 in the village of Hicksville between Elm Street and Meuse Argonne Street will close for a waterline repair October 6, 2014. Traffic will be detoured on to Elm Street, then Meuse Argonne/Hicksville Edgerton Road, Buckskin Road, Ohio 49 and then back on to Ohio 18. Work is being performed by Cash Services LLC, Genoa.

 

Ohio 66 north of Defiance will be restricted through the work zone for shoulder work. Traffic will be controlled with flaggers. Work is being performed by the Defiance County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Ohio 2 north of the village of Hicksville to the Williams County Line will be restricted through the work zone for shoulder work. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers. Work is being performed by the Defiance County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

 

Hancock County

 

U.S. 224 interchange at Interstate 75 reconstruction, Findlay

 

The U.S. 224 interchange with Interstate 75, Findlay, is currently being reconstructed. The project began in February and is expected to be completed late this fall. Work is being performed by Miller Brothers Construction, Archbold.

 

The following traffic impacts related to the reconstruction are in effect or will occur in the upcoming weeks:

 

Interstate 75

 

-Both the northbound and southbound lanes are currently narrowed and shifted approaching the U.S. 224 interchange.

 

- Lane restrictions will continue both northbound and southbound for overhead work at the bridge. Restrictions will occur between 9 p.m. and 10 a.m.

 

U.S. 224


-All ramps at the interchange are now open and will remain open for the duration of the project.

 

-Traffic on the bridge is one lane in each direction with a turn lane and is traveling on the south side of the bridge.

-Short-term, daytime lane closures should be expected throughout the week. Traffic maintained at times with flaggers.

-Motorists are cautioned to watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting at various locations throughout the work zone on U.S. 224 and along the interchange ramps.

 

-Some business drives on U.S. 224 will be closed at times for reconstruction. Alternate access to all businesses is available.

Interstate 75 southbound between Ohio 235 and the city of Findlay will be restricted to one lane through the work zone from 7 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. for pavement join repairs. Work is being performed by the Hancock County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Ohio 568 between County Road 180 and Country Road 236 will be restricted through the work zone for bridge deck repairs. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers. Work is being performed by the Hancock County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

U.S. 30 from Ohio 235 to the village of Beaverdam in Allen Countywill be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repairs. Work is expected to be finished this week. Work is being performed by Smith Paving & Excavating Inc., Norwalk.

 

Hardin County

 

Ohio 385 between Ohio 117 and County Road 25 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for drainage repairs. Work is being performed by the Hardin County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Ohio 53 between Township Road 100 and Township Road 60 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for drainage repairs. Work is being performed by the Hardin County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Ohio 31 from the Union County line to Ohio 292 is restricted to one lane through the work zone during pavement resurfacing. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay.

Paulding County

 

Ohio 114 from east of Gideon Road to west of Pease Road will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repairs. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Ohio 613 from the Ohio-Indiana State Line to west of U.S. 127 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repairs. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Ohio 637 north of the village of Grover Hill will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repairs. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Putnam County

 

Ohio 66 south of County Road N will be restricted through the work zone for shoulder work. Work is being performed by the Putnam County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Van Wert County

 

Van Wert County has no maintenance that will affect traffic for the week of September 29, 2014.

 

Wyandot County

 

Ohio 294 will close September 23 for approximately two days for a crossover replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 67, Ohio 53, Ohio 199, U.S. 23, and then back to Ohio 294. Work is being performed by the Wyandot County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Ohio 231 south of Township Road 140 will be open by Friday, September 26 following culvert repairs.

 

Ohio 294 west of County Road 109 will be open by Friday, September 26 following culvert repairs.

 

Ohio 199 south of Carey between Ohio 103 and Township Highway 28 is closed for a culvert replacement for 30 days as of Wednesday, September 10.  Traffic detoured onto U.S. 23 back to Ohio 199. Work is being performed by Alvada Construction, Alvada.

 

U.S. 23 between the city of Upper Sandusky and the village of Carey will be restricted through the work zone for pavement repairs. Work is being performed by the Wyandot County ODOT maintenance garage.

 

Ohio 53/67 (8th Street/Marseilles Avenue) in the city of Upper Sandusky from High Street to Wyandot Avenue is restricted to one lane through the work zone for water line installation and pavement repair. The project is expected to continue until mid-October. Work is being performed by Park Enterprises, Marion.
